Song Bird by chef Neil Perry AM offers a superlative culinary experience that blends the delicate flavours of Cantonese cuisine with the warmth and fragrance of traditional Chinese cooking. Reflecting Perry’s profound appreciation for Chinese culinary traditions, Song Bird’s menu is designed for sharing and is a testament to Perry’s commitment to cooking with fresh, locally-sourced premium produce.

Situated in Sydney’s Double Bay and set over three levels, Song Bird exudes a sophisticated yet welcoming ambience. Housed in the heritage-listed 1960’s masterpiece ‘Gaden House’, designed by architect the late Neville Gruzman, Song Bird's interior immerses guests in contemporary elegance with a subtle nod to Chinese sensibilities.

Neil Perry AM is one of Australia’s leading and most influential chefs. He has been the Food, Beverage & Service Director at QANTAS for 25+years, creating one of the best dining experiences in the sky.

We enjoyed our dining experience immensely. The flavours and combinations were exciting. One of our guests was GF and Songbird stepped up and confidently catered for the occasion. We even had a GF Birthday treat delivered to our table. Thank you Songbird. 🐦

Beautiful restaurant, terrific staff. I'm not so knowledgeable about Chinese food, but thought all the dishes were very good indeed. My more experienced dining partners were less enthusiastic, hence the four stars for food. I'd definitely visit again.

Our evening began with drinks at Bobbies. The ambiance and atmosphere were lively and the cocktails were amazing. We then made our way to Song Bird for dinner and from the moment we stepped in, we were met with warm hospitality and impeccable service. The staff were attentive and recommended the most popular items on the menu. Every dish was exquisite and filled with mouth watering flavours. To top off an already perfect evening, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Neil Perry himself. He was incredibly warm and friendly, adding a personal touch to an exceptional night.

Food and service was exceptional. Wine list was ok, lots of Chardonnay’s to choose from but not a lot of Australian Rieslings. Red wine list excellent. Fantastic array of whiskeys. Staff was very knowledgeable about food and wine. Will definitely be back.

A restaurant that is in great form. Food was exceptional. Service was great. The dumplings are the best you will find this side of Shanghai and the main course dishes are excellent as well.
