The Sondes Arms, Rockingham, is a 16th Century coaching inn, with amazing views of Rockingham Castle and Church. Having recently undergone a full refurbishment, The Sondes Arms offers a delightful Bar and Restaurant ideal for every occasion.

We pride ourselves as a family friendly public house & serve a traditional pub menu of home cooked food. In addition we serve our beautiful home cooked carvery all day Sunday and now Wednesday and Friday evenings along with a great range of lagers, ales and wines

We have been to the Sondes many times and always been satisfied, but after going yesterday evening , we have both been up from 4 this morning with a bad stomach.

Carvery was lovely, cauliflower cheese was a bit hard but everything else was perfect. Always a lovely meal and atmosphere. Their mars cookie pie is unreal!!! Highly recommend!

It was a busy Friday lunchtime, service was a little bit slow. Our waitress Andrea was very friendly, helpful and polite. We've been here many times as part of a larger group and have never been disappointed.

A very disappointing experience at the Sondes Arms which used to be a favourite spot for my family, but today was barely mediocre & would avoid in future. Service was very slow - took nearly an hour from arriving until we got our food - even though we all ordered the carvery. Food was nice enough, but the dessert menu was lacking any hot pudding options (despite mentioning desserts being served with custard or cream / ice-cream) and was generally unappealing so we opted to skip dessert. Extremely noisy as we were seated next to a large table with multiple screaming children who were VERY loud throughout the 2 hours we were unfortunate enough to spend there (for 1 course) - was a relief to leave the pub.

Great location, quick service, carvery was outstanding. Definitely the best carvery in the Kettering/corby area. Great value for money. Can’t wait to come back, this is going to be a monthly visit.

It now gets a lot more busy than it used to be and we were near a large party (baby shower) who wereratherloud. This somewhat spoiled our dining experience as it was difficult to hear our friends conversation. However, in spite of this, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, the staff were efficient. We will be going back again, probably midweek when it is less busy.

We arrived early table was booked for 1.30. We were shown to the table and left. We waited, then after 20min I got up and went to the bar and asked if we were going to get served, and the girl that showed us to or seat asked were I was sitting. After another 5 min a waitress came and asked for our meal order. We asked if we could have drinks first. We ordered the meals but a number of choices were unavailable on a rather limited menu.We were not advised on arrival that certain dishes were not available. We asked for the desert menu but it never arrived. The restaurant was not busy at all as we were the only customers in that area. We asked for the bill but gave up waiting after 15min and went to the bar and paid. Very disappointed as this used to be a fabulous place to dine. No offence but the young staff need a bit of training in hospitality.

The food was fine, and the staff were brilliant. However, sitting in a room where the wallpaper is literally pealing off the wall does not make for a good ambience.

The food was excellent and very good value for money but where we were seated we appeared to have been forgotten as the service was very slow however the very nice young lady serving us did apologise. Very good gluten free options. We will certainly visit again.
