The Sondes Arms, Rockingham, is a 16th Century coaching inn, with amazing views of Rockingham Castle and Church. Having recently undergone a full refurbishment, The Sondes Arms offers a delightful Bar and Restaurant ideal for every occasion.

We pride ourselves as a family friendly public house & serve a traditional pub menu of home cooked food. In addition we serve our beautiful home cooked carvery all day Sunday and now Wednesday and Friday evenings along with a great range of lagers, ales and wines

Been looking for a Sunday lunch venue since our favourite place changed hands and the Sonde Arms really hit the spot. Great service, wonderful food (at a reasonable price) in a wonderful location (we might ask for a different table next time but that's a small point). Thank you!

The meal was late to be delivered aprox 45 minutes after order The chilli con carne was bland as no chilli was added

The food was poor the lasagne was tasteless tasted the same as the chilli it’s took very long to get starter as the place itself wasn’t busy The service was ok had many meals there before But will not return as the food was poor and also the menu was poor It used to be a lovely pub with the previous owner and mostly always busy Sorry to say but to get back to the previous standard needs a lot of work I wouldn’t recommend to anyone friends have previously been they all say the same

Went on 16th June and I realise it was Father’s Day and they were busy Booked on open table and ticked the box for anniversary it was actually our golden wedding but no one at the sondes arms acknowledged that it was a special occasion so can only think they didn’t see it or didn’t take any notice of it. So really no point in having the boxes to tick for occasions. On the good side the food was lovely as always

Very good carvery and excellent value. We booked for 7.30 but that didn't make any difference on when we were called up to the carvery. Table were called up in the order they arrived not in the order they booked. The carvery queue was empty and we had to ask if we could go for our food and we were told no - other tables were ahead of us but no table came up for almost 10 minutes. That was the only disappointment as the food was outstanding value for money

2nd visit for 2 birthdays sine 26th May. 45 years in hotel management. Result don't tend to dine out often as I believe so many places have lost the concept of hospitality and value. Your team are very hospitable and attentive despite being busy. A great carvery with a very good plate on offer, an old saying 'it eats well'. Keep it up. See you for our 54th anniversary in October
