From shore to soil, provenance is paramount in producing a menu full of show-stopping dishes such as the Captain’s Seafood Platter; a two-tier shared tower of grilled Irish lobster and steamed Roaring water Bay mussels, plus fresh oysters, prawns and Howth smoked Irish salmon, served with Guinness brown soda bread and traditional seafood accompaniments and sauces; or the Sole Meunière; a whole Dover sole, which is filleted at the table for you. Finished our long weekend in Dublin with a meal here; an absolute gem of a place. Service outstanding and the food such high quality. We had tempura oysters to start, 1st time of trying and delightful. Amazing dining experience from start to finish, will return and thoroughly recommend.

First time visiting Sole and it did not disappoint. Food was really good with a great choice. Service was also really good, Lawrence and all the staff were great.

We were very well received. We choose the test menu and it was exellent. The dishes came one by one, not too fast not too slow. We had time to enjoy and discus the tastful meal. Our waiter Laurence guided us with a smile and a humorous word through the meal. We had an unforgettable evening. We can only recommend.

Great meal - 2 people - starters of prawn cocktail & scallops followed by monkfish & scallops coquilles st jacques - all delicious. My only complaint is the ‘bread basket’. A waiter carries a large display bread basket to table for diner to select basically brown or white bread. No flavoured options . My complaint is that the bread is not warm or particularly fresh. I had to exchange my brown slice as it was dry & rough feeling as though it had been sliced hours earlier. Small fresh batches of bread would be more appealing & in keeping with the general standard of this restaurant.

This is a must do restaurant while in Dublin. What an amazing dining experience! From the minute I entered the restaurant the staff was wonderful. I especially liked that they helped pair my wine with my food. And oh the food! I had oysters, scallops and then the lobster, which was delicious. A lovely dining experience for my last evening in Dublin.

The Monk fish I had was the best meal I’ve had since arriving in Ireland 8 days ago! My husband enjoyed rhe Torbut as well.

A lovely date night dinner in Sole kicked off perfectly with a Gunpowder Gin cocktail - we then enjoyed a prawn cocktail and smoked salmon respectively. For mains we opted for the scallops and the monkfish, both of which were excellent with the necessary extra side orders. Only shared the ice cream option as no more room ! Busy enough for a Monday evening, a few tourists adding to the attendance. Service pleasant and professional. We’ll be back !
