I am a professional Chef with more than 40 years of experience in the culinary world, all over many Countries. I am actually based in Manhattan - NY, where I manage my own company. In Italy I have been working in my restaurant for 17 years where I was awarded of my first MICHELIN STAR in 2007. I am really fond of fine dining and high end food.

My new favorite restaurant in Ridgewood. The service was impeccable, attentive, but not overwhelming. The chef is excellent, lots of little free offerings for us to sample. It was a very special experience!!! Can't wait to return

Our first time at Sola Osteria and the dinner was exceptional in all ways. Well staffed with truly professional staff who greet you at the door and in a nonintrusive manner keep a close eye on you throughout meal. The owner Chef Massimo Sola came to table several time to ask how everything was and explained the various dishes to us which was really interesting. He is engaged and watches over every aspect of the restaurant which was clearly evident. Now for the food...spectacular. Appetizers, entrees, pastas and desserts were uniquely prepared and tasty, served piping hot and fresh from the kitchen. We will definitely add this to our regular "go to" places in Bergen County for an intimate fun dinner date. Sola really is "authentic Italian" and BYOB makes it highly affordable. Highly recommend.

Excellent new restaurant in Ridgewood. Great service including charming owner/chef visiting tables to check on food and service. We had a few appetizers (meatballs, goat cheese salad and mussels) and entrees (cavatelli, gnocchi and bucatini) and they were all great. Nice addition to the dinner rotation.

Lovely experience…food delicious and the service was outstanding. The chef came out to meet with patrons and the wait staff was attentive and helpful. Very happy with the evening. Highly recommend!

My wife and I went there on Saturday evening. We were seated at a table for two, outside - a beautiful evening. We ordered the house salad (with fried goat cheese) as an appetizer (big enough to split, and delicious). For the main course, my wife had mussels al arrabiata (spicy sauce) and I had gnocchi with a house (meat) sauce. Both delicious. For dessert, we shared a crostata with ice cream. Great time, excellent value. Our first experience there, but we will be back.

Service was very good. Menu choices were varied. We were a party of four and we each ordered a different dish. I am looking forward to returning. The Cef was very attentive.

I am returning to this gem of restaurant for the fifth time since it has opened in Ridgewood Village. The first time, Nona from her old Pearl Restaurant was still quietly greeting old guests, while Massimo Sola introduced himself as the new chef in town, warm, welcoming, charming and unobtrusive. His first meal struck a different note, more modern, less familiar Italian, but still homely. The menu has evolved steadily since and it breaks all the stereotypes of expectations from Italian counterparts. It rings tones of Lombardy and Rome, through seafood , pasta and meat dishes. Best affogato outside Rome! We wish the talented chef the discipline and the imagination to take us on even more complex journeys through the Italian landscape, for many years to come. The Village has a rising star on its firmament !
