Comme le souvenir d'une cantina animée, le restaurant Soltoro Tequila Grill est situé sur le plancher de casino du Casino Mohegan Sun of the Sky (à côté de l'entrée du centre des congrès). Something has changed at this restaurant- food and service were downgraded from previous experiences. Maybe it was an off night? Or new management? Not enough servers and tables left dirty with piles of food/ dishes. Food quality was subpar. Not a positive experience all around.

We've eaten here a few times and have found a couple of things to be true: - The food is consistently good. We go specifically for things like fajitas, tacos, etc. and that food is always of generally good taste and served hot. The "black beans" are really more black bean puree and we would actually prefer... beans. But, all told we're happy with the food aspect. - It's loud. There is a LOT of ambient noise in the restaurant from music, TV's at the bar, and other patrons. Combine that with a server that doesn't speak up and you're in for a tough time. - Service is very inconsistent and varies anywhere from downright terribly (exactly what we experienced on our most recent visit) to generally good. The exact server that you get is going to determine what level of service you will actually get. Our most recent visit was just the two of us and realistically should have been about a 40-45 minute experience (based on what we ordered and how busy the restaurant was) TOPS but we were there for approximately 70-75 minutes. Essentially, we had about a half hour of our time wasted because our server spent their time chit-chatting with other guests about things that were not at all related to their meals and otherwise just not being present in the dining room. At one point, our server disappeared with my wife's Momentum card and Driver's License for close to 10 minutes. No apologies, no explanations, and zero interaction with us beyond taking our order and handing over the check (no water refills, didn't serve the food, didn't check in on us after the food was served, didn't check if wanted another round of drinks, etc.). One question I have is why are bartenders so stingy with salt on a margarita? When a customer says they want salt, SALT THE RIM!

We were there on Taco Tuesday. I ordered the double guacamole and my wife got beef tacos. The food was ample and very good, the service prompt and cheerful. We'll be back.

When we were seated we advised our server we were seeing a show at the arena and she understood. She must have been overwhelmed with tables because she was very slow getting back to us during the meal. After she gave us the check she was didn’t come back to take payment. We waited 10-15 min and were going to be late while waiting for her to come back to take payment. We had to find another server to help us check out.

Our waitress was awesome! Quickly came to our table when we were seated. Suggested items for us and brought our drinks quickly. Gave us the perfect amount of time to decide. Didn’t rush us. Food was very good. Homemade guacamole was yummy. We had medium and it was perfect. First time there but we will definitely return and recommend to family and friends
