Our dream began in late 2014, long before we became the "Best Mexican Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano". It began inside a 17- foot food truck with the burning desire to change the way guests perceived food truck cuisine to be we have always believed that Mexican food should be MORE! More complex, modern, enjoyable and healthier for our bodies.

The host was so awesome and saved our table, even though we were late for our reservation and we had called ahead but still so awesome that it was saved and ready for us when we got there. I was really impressed.

My spouse and I wanted to grab a bite before we went to UMOCA, and thought we’d try to find something close to the Trax line- Sol Agave is right next to the 6th South stop, so we decided to try them out. Glad we decided to eat there- the food was delicious- some of the best carnitas I’ve had in a while, and the salsas that came with each course were the perfect complement to the dish that accompanied them: Our server was wonderful- very knowledgeable and quick without the weird pushiness you sometimes get. All in all, a perfect night out.

I had a reservation to celebrate my anniversary. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were informed by the hostess that there were no available tables, and we would need to wait at least 45 minutes. I understand that unexpected delays can happen, but having a confirmed reservation and still facing such a long wait was disappointing—especially for a special occasion. I was hoping for a more seamless experience, as I’m sure is the expectation for all guests who make reservations. Please work on this for future guest

Restaurant was very crowded. Waited 20 minutes despite reservations. Another 20 minutes before we flagged down a waiter, no beverage/water, chips until we flagged her down. Took our order and brought us drinks and chips, and we told her that we (now) needed to hurry our order to make the ballet (we thought 90 minutes between reservations and the start of the ballet would be sufficient - not necessarily so when you’ve already burned 40 minutes before placing an order). Over 30 minutes wait, and nothing…we finally flag down another server. Our food comes out rushed, undercooked, not nearly as good as previous visits. Manager apologizes, comps the meal, give us a gift card. But such a bad experience, not sure we will ever be back.
