Our overall experience was good at Society Bar & Kitchen. The gentleman who greeted my friend and I when we stepped in was very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. However, our waiter himself was not interested in going over the menu with us and was more interested in the other French-speaking tables who were present in his section. Overall I would recommend this restaurant in spite of this!

The Wagyu beef meal was superb but the pizza (truffled Parma) had too much thick crust. It wasn’t like the Neapolitan style.

I had the brunch dish of sourdough bread with mushrooms, egg and pea pesto and added a pork sausage. I thought the pea pesto which was spread on the bread lacked flavor - very bland. The single mushroom and poached egg were nice, but the broccoli was cold and tasted like yesterday’s leftover. The sausage was very low quality. I’d hoped for more from this restaurant. Coffee was good tho’.

Food came out cold! The kitchen rectified but honestly put us off the food as it must be premade.

great food and service. We made the mistake of not informing in advance that we had disabled family members and they managed to set up a table for us very quickly.

Poor customer service - Waitress tapped me on the shoulder and said "what are you ordering?" Our waitress was very abrupt pushy and rude, I asked about a dish and she said " well look on the menu". We were told that people were lining up for our booking and told us they were going to bring the bill. The food was fine but not good enough to compensate for the way we were treated.

What a great place! I had this tagged the last time I was in Edinburgh and was disappointed I didn’t come. I am sure glad I came for dinner. They are known for breakfast but the dinner foods I had were all so tasty and delightful, a perfect way to end my long day. I enjoyed truffle fries and the ragu pasta dish with wine at one of the lovely window seats looking into the city. The service was amazing by Tom and Tony, and the manager Duan made me feel very welcomed as a solo diner. The place was busy, so obvs many have heard about it! The pizzas headed to other tables looked delicious. I want to try and squeeze in another visit before I leave the city.

We visited Society twice over 4 days in Edinburgh. For both dinner/pizza and brunch, equally fantastic. Service was outstanding and the location perfect for exploring new town and beyond afterwards.
