SoCal Kitchen + Bar (formerly Del Mar SoCal Kitchen) is a full-service restaurant, offering the best of California-inspired dishes and cocktails. The restaurant pays homage to a SoCal Kitchen with “good food, good vibes and good times to remember.”

The talented culinary team led by Executive Chef Mike Fick, is fanatical about freshness and uses only the best fare from the farm, garden and sea. The restaurant also has a heavy focus on vegetarian and gluten free options.

SoCal Kitchen + Bar offers Brunch, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm.

The restaurant is extremely loud, with seemingly no dampening efforts. After I was seated, it took maybe 10 minutes to be greeted by our server and even longer to get some water. Our server was courteous and helpful, however seemed surprised by my lack of wanting to order a drink, other than water as he asked several times. Food came out fairly quickly, however the rice on the sushi rolls was very thick and overly mushy. Ceviche was good, although I ran out of chips to eat it with and gave up on trying to get my server's attention to ask for me. In summary, I would not return, as the plates were expensive and not quality as I had expected.

Food was pretty good, nothing incredible. Maybe the most unique thing we had was the edemame dumplings, which was really good but kind of one note. Could have used some salt and spice. Had an omelette, bennies, açaí, ceviche, said dumplings, and a giant dry cinnamon roll.

We loved SoCal!!! Our server, Allysa, was so friendly and helpful when offering suggestions. We would not have ordered the shrimp ceviche without her recommendation and was seriously delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and fun. Everything we had was so good. We will be back!

Really enjoyed the ambiance. I personally don't think the blackened fish was worth the price. Will be visiting again.

We were first time customers and everything was amazing. Good food, good, fast, friendly service. We had an issue with a large group of people who came in decided to stand in a mass by the bar backed almost up into our table because their table was not yet ready. They were extremely loud, obnoxious, and just inconsiderate. They were blocking the walkway and making so that any customers and even servers with food had to walk sideways and almost lean up against our table to get by. One of the servers (not our own) noticed fairly quickly and came over to ask us if we were ok or if the situation was bothering us. I let her know that yes it was and she said she thought so and would let the manager know immediately. Not even 2 minutes later the manager came to our table and let us know that their table was getting ready right now and that they would be gone in a moment. She apologized. At the end of dinner the manager offered us free dessert. I was extremely impressed with how quickly they addressed and handled the unpleasant situation caused a group of rude, entitled individuals without making a scene. The entire night was extremely pleasant. Nice decor. Our server was very nice and attentive. Food was very good. We will definitely be going back!
