Our name has a special meaning to us. The Chinese character in “SO” means “creative" and we strive to never be boring or typical.

Please visit our original location in Tarzana for lunch or dinner. In addition to a la carte, we have an awesome set menu during lunch and dinner such as sushi lovers, sashimi lovers, and roll lovers for you to try our finest fish and great portions.

We are professional sushi chefs here to make your fine food and create specials upon request. But most importantly, we want our customers to feel like they are friends and family and have a good time while eating great food.

Love So Sushi and have been eating there for years. Definitely the best sushi in the Valley. The staff is fabulous too.

Overall very good. Valentine’s Day felt a little chaotic (but expected because it is a busy day). Will be going back soon.

All the rolls and sushi almost seemed premade at least to a point. They can out within a minute of ordering though I ordered a lot for our group of 6. And they were not the best quality. I was disappointed after seeing the high marks but guess they cater more to non-connoisseurs of fresh sashimi, what they taste like and how to sauce them if needed. And the cost for the underwhelming quality was high. Sushi spot near by was much better than this.

Love the staff, the food, the ambience, and all the many specials they dream up. I’m a super fan of So Sushi and will continue to go back as often as I can.

r omakase, and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting—just the right mix of chic and comfortable. Perfect for something special but still low-key, which is exactly what I was looking for. The staff was so kind and attentive. They made me feel really welcomed, and as a sweet surprise, they gave me free matcha ice cream to celebrate my birthday. It was such a thoughtful touch and really made my day feel even more special. The food? Amazing. Every single piece of sushi was so fresh and flavorful, and you can tell the chef puts so much care into every detail. If you’re thinking about treating yourself (or someone else), I can’t recommend So Sushi enough. It was such a memorable way to kick off my 30th!

I only have one negative comment and this is something that can apply to most restaurants. I’ve been to over the years, the music is too loud. Not only the atmosphere but this trend that started well over 10 years ago to crank the tunes in a restaurant, and a bar, but just restaurant is extremely distracted. I want to hear the sounds of a full dining room, I wanna hear the other diners, I wanna hear the chefs, and frankly, I want to hear the people sitting next to me in across from me about having to talk over the music as if I’m in a crowded bar trying to catch potential. No music it’s just necessary in a family restaurant. Not necessary majority of restaurants that seem to think it’s necessary to drink the tunes during meal.
