Our name has a special meaning to us. The Chinese character in “SO” means “creative" and we strive to never be boring or typical.

Please visit our original location in Tarzana for lunch or dinner. In addition to a la carte, we have an awesome set menu during lunch and dinner such as sushi lovers, sashimi lovers, and roll lovers for you to try our finest fish and great portions.

We are professional sushi chefs here to make your fine food and create specials upon request. But most importantly, we want our customers to feel like they are friends and family and have a good time while eating great food.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! The waiters are not attentive AT ALL it took them 20 mins to bring us water that we had to ask for repeatedly. When we initially walked in there was no host and we waited for 6 mins to talk to someone to check in. The sushi rolls were not up to par so we had one sent back and the CHEF AND WAITER CAME OUT OF THE KITCHEN TO HARASS us at our table and they questioned why we were sending it back and THEN they proceeded to give us an ultimatum we either take this rolll home or pay for this roll we clearly weren’t going to eat and they stood there starring at us for 5 mins with the roll in their hand which was rude and weird. Furthermore there was discrepancies in our bill and the waiter LUCKY was rude and not receptive of what we had to say when we explained to him why and how our bill was wrong. We paid and left and then LICKY CHASED US TO OUR CAR asking for us to sign the bill we clearly signed for and paid for and he told us to wait in OUR car so he could print out a new bill which raised red flags but he never came back to the car.

If you haven’t been to So Sushi, you are SO missing out…The freshest and highest quality sushi in the valley! From Halibut Fin Sushi to the BEST Toro hands down! Chef Ismael was giving us the best cuts and kept our palette going crazy with the unique combinations. They are in a larger space to cater to more guests which they were missing at their older space. Good Luck to So Sushi in their new location! Will definitely be going there more often!

Good luck to your new place. It looks great. Service was slow but it’s understandable as you just opened and trained new people.

The fish was not the same quality as prior. The service was spotty due to new employees that were receiving ongoing training.

So Sushi new location is beautiful. What a great space, modern and pleasant. The service was outstanding and staff was very attentive. The food is as usual impeccable, fresh and delicious. We’ve been long time customers but this space will definitely bring us more often in the near future. Wishing you all the very best.

My favorite local sushi restaurant. They recently moved from their tiny spot of many years to a beautiful new and larger space. Of course my favorite spot is the sushi bar, where the chefs are always fun to chat with as they prepare beautiful rolls, and delicious sashimi and sushi. Everything is fresh and there are many specialty rolls, including my favorites, Crunchy Roll, and SO Cupcake Roll with yellowtail. The service is excellent and I am looking forward to trying the Omakase soon!

The new location is beautiful!!! Food was delicious as always. Highly recommend for a date night! I’ve been going to So since it opened and it never dissapoints.

Have been a patron of So Sushi for many years and I was not disappointed this time either. Chefs Ryo and Takka ensure their guests feel at home with a welcoming smile and great customer service by their wait staff and the sushi is always fresh and delicious and generously portioned.
