With his concept for EDITION’s beach club restaurant, SO’OL (meaning “oyster” in Mayan), Chef Tomás Bermudez brings cuisine reminiscent of a Mediterranean beach club, with Mexican influence. A casual beachfront focused on seafood with southern France and eastern Mediterranean inspiration, featuring fresh oysters, clams, aguachiles and raw fish from the best catch in the Mexican seas. Bermudez’s four La Docena restaurants have been named to Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants 2022 list, bringing even more anticipation to EDITION with the debut of SO’OL.

Food was delicious and excellent service. The chef went out of his way to accommodate my diet. You need to request your server to be Paco!!

Great food and great service! We enjoyed catch of the day, tuna tostada, mixed avocado salad.

The ambience and the server were wonderful. The food on the other hand was awful, particularly for what you pay. We asked for water, which we thought would be complimentary, instead we were charged $18. The salad was a decent portion but not worth $42. It was lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, avocado and a vinaigrette. The mussels in a green curry sauce were cold and less than mediocre. Same with the fries. The meal was $55. The fries were worth $2 at MacDonalds. We were looking forward to a beautiful night out and the food was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. The meal, which we shared was over $150, and should have cost $30 at most. Awful. Highly do not recommend.

Amazing food, the catch of the day, the wagyu steak and the bluefin tuna app were all very delicious.

El lugar es increíble ,sin duda de los hoteles más lujosos de la riviera maya ! La comida simplemente espectacular ! Diseño y decoración espectacular . El atardecer impactante

Marco waited on us with excellent service! He was friendly, informative and gave good suggestions on what to order. I had the grilled fresh catch and it was superb! One of the best I have ever eaten. The white wine blend Marco suggested was also delicious. He catered to my husband Stuart’s needs as well. The atmosphere at Edition was great. Such a wonderful experience.

SO’OL Beach Club at the Edition was a great experience. We had the oysters, the tuna crudo and the half fish of the day. The crudo was so buttery, and we LOVED the half fish (big enough for 2 people) which came with multiple accoutrements. Special mention goes to our server, Brian, who was super. Highly recommended.

Overall great experience even though they only opened recently. The food and wine list was expansive especially for the Playa Del Carmen area. The Edition is a great property and I highly recommend going.
