The concept is great and the globe was warm and comfortable. The lights during a winter evening provide a nice ambiance! We pre-ordered the cheese fondue and chocolate fondue for our group of 7 (4 kids). At $50 each, we expected something decent (for small town WI). I don’t even know how the establishment still serves these two items but they were beyond terrible. The cheese fondue was a giant pot of solid cheese that separated from the whey so it was a glob of thick (what appeared to be Colby jack) cheese floating in yellow salt milk. After about 20 minutes of stirring, it wouldn’t incorporate and started to burn. It came with a tray of stale bread, chips and brown apple slices. If the fondue was edible, we would have only been able to eat 1/4 of what was in the pot. We sent all of it back. We had a few pizzas instead and they were good except we ordered one without meat and it came with meat anyways so that went back too. Finally, it was time for our chocolate fondue and we were rooting for it to be ok. This may have been the worst part. We received yet another giant pot of liquid- definitely not actual melted chocolate but chocolate syrup. It was like runny corn syrup that was dyed brown. Our tray included stale graham crackers, pretzels and very old marshmallows. Our server claimed that she watched the cook melt chocolate bars in the pot. Nope, sorry. The chocolate like syrup didn’t thicken- even slightly in the cold. We sent this back as well. Beverages were severely overpriced but we ended up paying for just the pizza and drinks thanks to the manager who removed inedible items from our bill. If you go, expect incredibly slow service and whatever you do, avoid the fondue- it’s 100% a fon-don’t!
