This is a neighborhood gem. You can tell this place has been there for many years. Local people embraced it in a good way. This is where the Lions International local chapter have their bi-weekly meetings. We had dinner on a Sunday. The hostess and the waitresses were very welcoming, acommodative and cordial. We asked to move tables in between the appetizer and the main course, and the staff agreed without a problem. The seafood was very good, fresh and thoughtfully cooked. My son had the shrimp cóctel as his meal and in a few minutes he ate it all without hesitation. My wife had the two way shrimp (coconut shrimp, broiled shrimp) with the potatoes salad. Her favorite was the coconut shrimp and there was so much shrimp on the plate that the rest of the table nibble on the broiled shrimp. My daughter had some french fries also disappeared from the plate in no time. I had the Mate’s Broiled Flounder, scallops, shrimp and mussels with a side of mash potatoes, all well seasoned and freshly cooked, enough to make you feel full by the end in a good way. The restaurant is rustically decorated, all wood with seafood trinkets and pictures. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Contrary to what some online reviews say, the restaurant staff is putting extra effort to provide very good service. The appetizers and entrees are reasonable priced. We will be back.

We usually love SC, but sadly the service was awful and good not as good as before. Celebrated Anniversary with 2 couples and was very disappointed.

We go to Smugglers a few times a month and this was the first bad experience we had.Service was exceptionally slow which resulted in an unpleasant dining experience

The restaurant has good decor and ambiance, food was good, but the service was horrible. On July 19, 2024, we went to celebrate our son’s birthday, and despite his excitement and mentioning it to the waitress, she repeatedly ignored him. It felt intentional, especially since the table next to us received a cake with a candle, while we did not. This was a very sad experience, and I hope no one else has to endure such a painful situation when their child is ignored by a hospitality employe ..

As usual Smugglers delivered consistent quality of food. Been there forever and has never wavered on that point.

The food was excellent as usual I think our waitress was inexperienced. Never got bread and shevtook a long time to initially greet us

The restaurant did not have it together. Entrees came before appetizers. Asked for water that never came. Waitress asked my husband if he wanted lemon in his iced tea. He said yes. She remembered to ask, but did not remember to add it. We have been to this restaurant many times, but would have to seriously consider whether to return. My prime rib was excellent, but my husband's fries were cold. They just don't have it together.

My wife and I ordered the Friday night 1 1/4 lb lobster special. Both lobsters were cooked perfectly and the sides were excellent also
