Initialement fondé en 1967, Smuggler's Inn s'affaire depuis à faire honneur à la célèbre côte de bœuf d'Alberta. Établissement populaire auprès des habitants de Calgary, il est le choix idéal pour les anniversaires, les occasions spéciales ou pour un simple rassemblement entre amis ou en famille. La côte de bœuf est le plat-vedette du menu varié, disponible toute la journée, tous les jours, apprêté comme vous voulez. Du sandwich aux côtes de 9 onces à la pièce de 48 onces, les nombreuses et succulentes déclinaisons de côte de bœuf sauront vous plaire! La côte cajun est un choix populaire, tout comme l'ajout d'une queue de homard ou de crevettes à l'ail à votre plat. Our son, mother, spouse had a very delicious meal at smugglers to celebrate a birthday. Two of us had 6 ounce temderloins with fries and veggies, and the guys had large rib Eye steaks with fries and veggies. The steaks were amazing! The peppercorn sauce for the steaks was fantastic. The service was excellent!

It was OK. The no salad bar is a big change and a really disappointing one. It’s very clustered here now and the noise carries so we listened to almost two hours of babies crying non stop. A few in our group liked their prime rib but one cut was very poor. The pasta was good but bland. The Ribs were awful though, no one ate them. The cheese bread was the star of the show. I wouldn’t recommend this place and we don’t intend on returning ourselves.

We were sat in the bar for New Years Eve dinner. Ambiance in the bar is lack-luster with too much lighting. Requested the Smugglers Amber beer - out. Asked for a 9 ounce red wine and received a glass of wine filled to the rim - not classy. We were only checked on once by our server, which resulted in the shortest meal I've ever had at a nicer non-chain restaurant (45 min). It was very underwhelming and was not a great New Years Eve experience for myself or my daughter.

They gave our reservation in the dinning room away to another couple whose name was “similar” they said. They then put us in the bar, a dark raised cubical directly across from bar, awful ambiance. Slow to be served. Had to ask for our wine. Had to ask for horseradish that was to have come with meal. Very disappointing for a New Years Eve celebratory dinner we were looking forward, especially after making reservations weeks before, and answering their many texts of confirmation.

Smugglers would normally get all 5 stars. However, the day before our reservation we were told they were now doing a fixed menu… gives no choice to go elsewhere at the last minute before New Years Eve, next was having to sit beside a large group with a toddler… didn’t expect to have to spend a special evening out dining beside a toddler ( I love kids but not at finer dining establishments), which leads to the noise level of a squealing child, the food was good as we had prime rib… the starters not so much. I booked for the oyster bar which was not available now with a fixed menu. 5 stars go to our server Marvin, he was attentive even with having to oversee a lot of other tables, friendly, and professional… thank you Marvin for making our night!

Normally the prime rib is excellent. Last night it was dry not tough but not really enjoyable. As well they had a special menu only. I thought when booking we could order from normal menu. Instead of 38 for prime rib it was 59. In their defense the server asked how it was and I mentioned that it was not great. She offered to replace it and I said it was okay. Guess I only have myself to blame. As we walked out I saw other prime ribs that looked more like what I would have expected.

Had a great time. Service was excellent. We had the walk the plank. Excellent value for the amount of food. Would feed 3 people with regular appetites. The flavors were excellent. All 5 different meats had distinct and delicious flavor.
