Initialement fondé en 1967, Smuggler's Inn s'affaire depuis à faire honneur à la célèbre côte de bœuf d'Alberta. Établissement populaire auprès des habitants de Calgary, il est le choix idéal pour les anniversaires, les occasions spéciales ou pour un simple rassemblement entre amis ou en famille. La côte de bœuf est le plat-vedette du menu varié, disponible toute la journée, tous les jours, apprêté comme vous voulez. First time being back since the new ownership and it was definitely a different experience. They were understaffed with waiters but overstaffed with hostess and runners that were not attentive at all to help out . Took 30 minutes to get drinks for the first time and we had to waive someone over an hour later to order again . The other 4 in our party ordered prime rib and their orders were right I ordered steak and it was cooked medium instead of medium rare and my side was wrong . The guys were disappointed the salad bar was gone as it was a smugglers staple , it felt more like a Keg experience . Honestly next time we will go to Ceasers for the same price

Amazing food and ambience! We shared a plate of oysters and marrow and escargot for starters and a large prime rib with side of lobster tail and more bone marrow. All mouth watering!

I have heard good & bad about the new Smugglers. Took my bestie there for her birthday. Everything was great. The staff were awesome. The food was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

As a native Calgarian, I've been coming here for decades. I've been to Smugglers for both personal events as well as to buy customers or suppliers lunch. When a friend was in town, we decided to try lunch here. Both of us were familiar with Smugglers and thought it would be like old times. It should have been a tip off that the parking lot wasn't very full at all. However, it was a holiday Monday. All the staff were great. Both the hostess and the waitress were very professional. The interior was clean and new and it was a nice place to be. I ordered the Prime Rib, my friend ordered the beef dip. We didn't talk much about the food. I would say what I had on my plate kind of led me to not mention the meal. Prime rib that was obviously reheated and a baked potato that was seemed to also be from a previous day made for a very dull lunch. I miss the old Smugglers. The salad bar is gone. The beef that I remember as hot, tender and delicious has been replaced by a bland, reheated hunk of beef, and a side of yesterdays baked potato. Not going to rush back.

The staff at Smugglers are always so great, warm, welcoming and attentive. We had the Prime Rib Eggs Benny and the Viking Benny and they were perfect. We love trying out new places to eat, but we always come back to Smugglers.

I went to smugglers a month ago and was super impressed by the service and quality of food there that I decided to go back on my birthday. This time around I regretted coming back to the resturant. I do not understand how the quality of food has dropped so drastically in 1 month. The beef bone marrow was amazing first time around but second time there was little to none of the marrow itself and the escargot was so overcooked and bland. The smugglers cut we had first time was also amazing and I believed it was worth every penny, second time around the cut was horrible. The prime rib was super chewy and the taste was not as great as the first time. The service was also lacking compared to the first time, ordered drinks and it took 15mins to get to us and then the food took about 45mins to get to us. I would understand if it was during peak hours but there was about 7 tables seated. I go to a lot of resturants to eat but this was one of the most disappointing expierences I have had.

Our waiter Marvin made the experience excellent. Best waiter we have had in many many years. Food was great and the atmosphere was the Smugglers I remember as a child.

The experience was very much like Smugglers was prior to Covid and change of ownership. We did miss the lack of salad bar but food was excellent. Little mistakes were made but they did come good for them. Excellent meal.
