Welcome to Smoking Lobster Cowes, an Asian-Fusion restaurant overlooking Cowes Marina. Voted best Isle of Wight restaurant two years in a row.

Family owned by the Giancovich's, with recipes influenced by their extensive travels around Asia, and by their childhood of growing up hunting, gathering, and spear-fishing for seafood.

Our popular menu showcases Japanese and Asian dishes,
using contemporary cooking skills and presentation.
Sushi, sashimi & Japanese BBQ are the highlights.
Our local fisherman, Justin, catches our lobsters & line caught sea bass fresh for our use, so our dishes include the freshest possible ingredients from your local shores.

The bar menu reflects the elegant dishes from the kitchen, with precise, bespoke cocktails such as the Lychee and Cucumber Martini, all prepared using freshly pressed juices.

We offer formal dining areas, private dining areas and casual dining areas. If you fancy just a drink, let us know.

All the plates we had were incredibly tasty. Having lived in Japan for seven years, we really appreciated the extent of the Japanese influence. Lovely sashimi. Great desserts also

We invited a group of French friends who thoroughly enjoyed the meal. However, we did find the menu a little overwhelming and ended up ordering several dishes without really knowing what we were ordering! The waitress, Margaux, was very helpful and the food was delicious.

The most amazing place to eat on the Isle of Wight. Every mouthful is delicious. A truly sensational experience. First class service. Exceptional.

I was taking my wife for our anniversary to have a nice meal. Well at first impression it looked fine. Furniture was from a school. The staff were absolutely fine and attentive, and we decided on a drink. Water was free but a margarita (small) was £14! The food tasted great what there was of it. I had Salmon sashimi, four small pieces of salmon with some soy sauce on a large plate which made the portion even smaller than it was. That was £11. I could go on about the other food we had but it was all the same, small portions and way over priced. We left very disappointed and hungrier than when we arrived. We walked across the street and bought fish and chips, which was great, should have gone there in the first place. We were very disappointed as it was our anniversary. Save your money, don’t go.

Very small amounts of fish in the dishes we ordered, bulked with Brioche. Edamame beans cold and very chilled. Certainly not what we expected going off reading other reviews. The waitress did say they had changed the menu and now offer tapas size portions that 3-5 pp was sufficient. We ordered 7 for 2 people, left still hungry as we did not think the food was enticing enough to order more dishes.

Amazing food as usual. I’ve eaten here 15+ times and it’s always a positive experience, many restaurants can’t deliver a constant standard of service , this place can! so forget your Limewood house , The pig or Hut visits, if your a real foodie I’d highly recommend this place 🫶
