Our story so far... After much research throughout the States, Smokin Bones had its first outing in Herbert Park in 2014. Barbecue has grown to be a way of life for the Smokin Bones team and is much more than smoky meats and juicy flavours. Barbecue is about friends gathering together and sharing good food in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. That’s what we aim to achieve in our locations, from the head chef to your server on the floor. Thanks for your custom and we hope you enjoy your visit. Smokin Bones is 100% Irish owned and apart from visiting any of our locations you can now enjoy our great smoked flavours at home. Smokin Bones is simply the best place if you would like to get a good taste of some very well cooked meat. 4 of us took a platter, and we had wings, brisket, half-rack of ribs, and pulled pork... With fries and beans. It qas divine !!! The other two at our table took brisket and a burger, which both were really good too. This should your place to go to !!

The baby back ribs were the driest, toughest ribs I've ever eaten, making it nearly impossible to cut through with a knife. They were definitely not cooked "Low n Slow" as claimed on the menu. The slider bun served with the ribs was equally dry. For the sides, although the mac 'n' cheese was baked nicely, the red slaw contained more carrot than cabbage. The place itself is small and looks quite dilapidated, but not in a "charming American diner" way. Furthermore, the staff seemed rather disinterested.

We had a lovely meal and the atmosphere was nice. The servers were very friendly and always on point. Really enjoyed this place on a day out with family. I would recommend.

Third time in Smokin Bones. Twice here and once in Castle Market ( Disaster ). Party of six for my sons 16th Birthday. Ordered 5 starters - 3 Arrived. Then with the mains - the other two starters arrived ( cold congealed cheese soggy fries & under-cooked cold chicken wings - neither of which could be eaten ). The finished 3 starters had not been cleared when the mains arrived so - mild chaos ensued with re-arranging plates. We were generally ignored throughout the experience - I suppose the staff knew that they had royally screwed up but no apologies came. I handed back the two inedible starters which were rightfully taken off the bill but little else was offered for the inconvenience of two of us sitting with no food for an extended period while the others respectfully waited for the final two starters to arrive while their own food went cold. ( My Castle Market experience was of the order being taken - 40 MINUTES later starters arrived and again some of the starters not showing up at all. We stood up and walked out at that stage ) We will never be back to either SB again.
