The Smokehouse is a renowned and critically acclaimed restaurant based in Islington serving smoked meat and BBQ.
We believe in our product and buy meat direct from the farm and butcher it on site, we receive our fish from small day boats from the south coast of England and only use the best produce available.
We serve a wide selection of great British and European beers/Ales as well as specialised wines bought only from family-run vineyards.

We have a steak board on site which has a selection of dry aged rare breed cuts. We butcher our beef on site daily, providing you with the best British produce. All of our steaks are served with a choice of either Peppercorn Sauce, Bearnaise Sauce or Blue Cheese Sauce.

Nice community pub, food was good, service not so much. Mandatory service charge of 12.5% making them complacent maybe?!

The food was really good, would highly recommend the Plaice. All lovely welcoming staff and Zoe very lovely too!

Awesome place but let down by the waiting time. Members of the team who were serving us were polite and attentive when they had the time to be. It seemed as though there were far too few members of the team actually on the floor serving as they were overstretched making the place run. I do not blame the servers for this but management who clearly aren’t making sure shifts are staffed correctly. Food overall was good but hope there are more staff when I next visit.

The location and the setting was lovely, it was really nice to sit in the sunshine with our roast dinner. Great service, everyone was very attentive and friendly. The roast lamb to share was amazing! We also had the scotch egg which was lovely, I thoroughly recommend both of those. We did have the pork scratchings and apple sauce, which were a bit of a let down, these were just from a packet tipped on a plate. Other than those, everything was brilliant, definitely worth a visit.

A little hidden oasis in the heart of Highbury & Islington. Fun and friendly atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food. The perfect spot to settle in for lunch on a Sunday. Will definitely be back and with lots of friends!

Everything was great, from the starters to the roasts. Ambience is very nice and the waiters kind and professional. Strongly suggested

I really want to like this place, as it’s local, but they do make it difficult. Service is generally inattentive and slow. Food is ok, occasionally better, but not commensurate with the high prices.
