Smokehouse Barbecue has been servicing Kansas City since 1987. It opened its doors in Gladstone, Kansas City, Missouri, with one objective in mind: to provide Kansas City customers with the best barbecue and service possible. On a daily basis, Smokehouse Barbecue surpasses that aim by serving only the best hickory-smoked brisket and juicy chicken, as well as delectable spices, sauces, and rubs.

    Despite us having a large party, our waitress was very attentive, polite, and did an excellent job! The food was delicious and hot.

    Waitress service was exceptional. Seems to be a little confusion when making a reservation. We had a reservation for 6:30, arrived right about 6:30 and we were told that it would be a 30 minute wait for a table. When I inquired about our reservation, I was told that all the reservations do is tell the cook staff approximately how many to cook for. After asking to see a manager and speaking to him we were seated within 5 minutes.

    Food was amazing. They were able to accommodate our large group (soccer team) as well as parents.

    Crispy Sandwich was as awesome as ever! And those beans...fantastic! Only suggestion is to chill the pitchers you put the beer in...the beer gets warm too quick.

    While the service was great, the food just didn’t cut it. The meat was dry and the sauce was bland. There was nothing special or exciting about it. The table had a variety of different foods and everyone said the same thing. One of our party had an issue with something in their food that the staff immediately took care of, and very generously, but the quality was not good enough to make us want to come back.

    Despite a large choice of different meat taste was nowhere to be found...$2.00 to replace any side by a salad!!! Really??

    The burnt ends and beans were amazing. Pulled pork was good. The brisket was ok.

    Food is always good and service done well. Not putting the beer into hot pitchers would be nice.

    I was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant and the food. I booked a week in advance as my son was completing his internship at KU and we wanted to stay by the airport. Baked beans - good. Potato salad - good. Ribs and BBQ burnt ends- good. Only thing I had a concern with was the sauce, tasted like tomato paste or ketchup. But the meat was good without any sauce! Vivian was our server and she was great!
