Great restaurant. Tasty BBQ. This place serves all wood barbecue. Folks if you don't see any wood and run the other way. Excellent brisket!

Excellent barbecue-- the hog wings were great. Our server Anneliese was tremendous. She was very knowledgeable and most attentive. Another great restaurant in the Newport Restaurant Group.

Mushroom Pita $15.95 Smoked portabella mushrooms. Mmmm. Cremini mushrooms. Yum. Overnight tomato. Yes, please! Roasted eggplant hummus. Sign me up! What was served: Cubed mushroom quarters (cremini mushrooms are regular button mushrooms), at least 1/2 cup of oil, and sautéed spinach. I could not locate any of the other ingredients listed. I was sad sad sad about the missing hummus the most. Two of my dinner companions had The Hog Pen and said it was very good. One got the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs—two thumbs up. I’d seen the picture of the sandwich on their online menu. Had the mushrooms been sliced, I could have eaten the pita in hand. Being cubed required a fork because mushrooms just fell out of the pita. It was extremely oily and for what purpose, Im not sure. As for all of the other missing ingredients, that is the job of the kitchen to let the server know they cannot prepare the meal as described. That did not happen. The server was a lovely young server (first job?) who said she communicated my comments with the staff. I didn’t eat much of the sandwich innards (it tasted mostly of oil) but ate the pita and the (delicious) cornbread I got in place of fries. So glad I ordered cornbread as that was my meal. My meal mates were visiting New England from Missouri. I really didn’t feel like having “an issue” with my meal in the restaurant . Vegetarians and vegans beware. If this sandwich sounds delicious to you, I suggest you check before ordering to make sure it can be prepared as described on their menu.

Food was amazing! Visiting from out of state so wasn’t sure what to expect from New England bbq but I’d say the have down south bbq beat hahaha and I have traveled to many different places. Very impressive

If you want excellent smoked meet, this will not disappoint. The ambience is iffy and the noise level is high with TVs and background music. Service was pleasant but it took awhile to get our meals.

Very good BBQ! I ordered the chopped salad with pulled pork. Salad was nice with avocado, black beans and tossed with ranch. Had a side of the creamy mac n cheese which had a light smoky flavor.

I recently dined at Smokehouse in Newport and had an outstanding experience! I started with a margarita made with Casamigos, and it was absolutely fantastic. The balance of flavors was perfect, making it incredibly refreshing and enjoyable. For my meal, I ordered the chopped salad with BBQ pulled pork, and it was a true delight. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, perfectly complementing the fresh ingredients in the salad. The combination of textures and tastes made for a satisfying and delicious dish. The atmosphere at Smokehouse is warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend Smokehouse to anyone looking for great food and drinks in Newport.
