Join us for an exceptional riverfront dining experience, located in the heart of downtown Reno, at our newly remodeled location, Smith and River. I enjoyed our dinner. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. I had the Chicken Piccata and my husband had the special which was Sole stuffed with crab. The presentation was beautiful too.

Great food, fabulous chef to develop the food! Need more servers and another bartender. Drinks were slow. Had to ask for specials. Was not offered a dessert menu, but had the cheesecake and the Affogato, both delicious.

We really want to like this place. The last 3 times we have been here we were seated in the bar area (did not select that for our reservation). While the food was delicious, the service is not great. The bartender is also the server in the bar area. This meant we were waiting to be approached, waiting to order, waiting to ask for drink refills, and waiting a long time for our bill. The bartender/server was very nice, but obviously very busy! They should have dedicated servers for that area that are not also the bartenders. Twice we saw the manager helping make drinks behind the bar. And we even heard someone come in asking for a job and they said they were not hiring. They seem understaffed. Disappointing.

We ordered the cacao & pepe with the tomato soup and the seafood special with petrale sole and a pear salad. The food and service were outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant and will visit again.

Terrific variety, fish was delicious (carppacio appetizer), delicious salads (kale at tableside), excellent daily specials (pork chop with squash), and pastas. Generous portions and terrific service. We sat on outside deck over river which was lovely setting.

We dine out in Reno at least once per month. This menu was different than what was posted online, which is understandable but I wouldn’t have booked a reservation with the menu tonight. Overall the vibe and service was great but portions were super small and the taste of each item missed the mark. The best item we had was the pizza appetizer and for a $250 dinner (no drinks) for 4 adults I guess I would have expected much better food.

Outstanding food and preparation! Our server, Rayven, made the experience quite magical with her beautiful suggestions throughout the evening. We will be back!

Our server was friendly but when the wine we chose wasn’t in stock, redoing the wine list apparently, it took a while for her to get back to us to offer another option and then more time when what she suggested wasn’t the correct replacement. We ordered three dinners for two, a salad course, a flatbread course and a main course. We expected to get each part separately, like a normal restaurant meal, nope, received them all at once. Told “that’s how it works”. So, our main dish got cold while we ate our salad and the flatbread. Again, the food was good but it would have better hot. Our seventh person, who is gluten sensitive, ordered the chicken piccata and asked if she could get it without breading. She was told that it wasn’t possible, they weren’t clear whether it was prebreaded or prefloured but weren’t very helpful.
