Turned away. As didn’t have booking. No tables available. And manager did not come to apologise

We had a disappointing experience at Slug & Lettuce - The Friary. Despite pre-booking a table for 4:15 PM, we arrived at 4:00 PM to check if it was ready, but it wasn't. By 4:45 PM, the table was still not available, and we were informed that food would take an additional hour. The venue was very busy, and it was clear that the staff and management were overwhelmed and disorganised. Many other customers were also experiencing similar delays. It appears they have either overbooked or are not managing allocated time slots properly.

Awful service, table wasn’t available for me. They found seat me in a table for 4 when booked for 6 Had to sit outside, didn’t honour my bottomless brunch booking. Was told 40/45 min wait for food. Nearly 2 hours later had our food Never again

We were absolutely disgusted by this venue, firstly we had to wait ages for our table, it was absolutel chaos in there, when we did finally get to sit down, waited ages for a menu, in the end we had to ask a member of staff, then had to go to bar to order (which took ages as well) but at the bar my son was told there was no steak or fish left, they were my only 2 choices as I can’t eat cheese, so didn’t have much else to pick from, eventually I found some chicken pasta (which didn’t have cheese) only to be told (after queuing AGAIN by the bar for another 10 mins) to be told they didn’t have that either, it would have been easier to ask what they did have, so decided to eat elsewhere, but with it being a bank holiday Saturday there was no where available so ended up in McDonald’s 😳, couldn’t spend all night as we had a show to get too, we were 40 minutes there waiting all that time and not to actually get to eat anything AND we had to leave half a bottle of wine as didn’t have time to drink it or couldn’t walk around Cardiff with a bottle of wine, absolute shambles and stuff didn’t give a stuff about losing custom

Had a booking at Slug and Lettuce for a celebratory dinner with my parter. Food and drinks were amazing and so was the service. The staff were so helpful in catering for us, we can wait to come again!

Lovely lunchtime with family food delicious, 2 for 1 cocktails lovely atmosphere close to new theatre for our show definitely will come to the slug and lettuce again .

The CEO and guest arrived at the restaurant and they were advised that there was no staff, therefore had to go to another restaurant.

We had a brilliant experience, from the door men to bar staff waitress service and the gentleman taking bookings. As you entered... He was amazing.. Door men were so lovely and helpful too. As we needed directions. And I was asking about the chef...they were very proud to say how good their chef was etc. There was a wedding there too. Well it certainly didn't bother us. Or even knew they were there it was a pleasure to see the bride and guest enjoying.. Honestly we really enjoyed. Food was stunning brilliant service really fast compliments to the chef too. Great value for money.... But so so tasty And fresh. No coffee available, but we did grab a take away cofffe.down the road ... Thanks to every one at slug and lettece Friary road x
