    Skylon's New Year's Eve celebration features an unbeatable view of River Thames , a live band, a DJ and a 5-course menu . Enjoy a 5-course menu for £375 per person. The menu is designed to keep you fed and entertained from 6:30pm right through to the midnight, as you see out 2024 we will have live band. Please note this is the only menu available, We require a prepayment in full to secure this reservation (per person). We offer a full refund policy if the booking is cancelled 72 hours before. Minors under 10 are not allowed for the evening. Kids menu £175pp. Guests must arrive before 8pm in line with South Bank Centre security protocol.

    The restaurant services delicious food, the staff are welcoming, good and attentive. It is set up to service food before concerts. However, the noise level LSAT’s make it difficult to hold a good conversation.

    We enjoyed a birthday brunch at Skylon. Service was attentive (less so towards the end). Food options were good and decent value too. Great atmosphere with the sax player. Would recommend.

    Skylon used to be one of my favourite places to eat. I’ve not eaten there for a while and was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately I was disappointed.

    Firstly our booking for 21:45 was not contested, so why were we told that the chef had to go, as soon as our pre-dinner drinks arrived? Bulldozed by the waiter into choosing 2 dishes from a menu of pretty grim-looking options. Took his suggestions (trout and pasta). Both revolting - trout (intensively farmed judging by its flaccidity) dish was seemingly defrosted in a microwave - half stone cold and half barely even tepid. Awful sauce redeemed only by nice roasted hazlenuts. Second course worse - seemed to have been made with shop bought jar of tomato sauce. Certainly made me feel somewhat ill afterwards. Made to feel guilty for wanting to dine after a concert in the RF Hall downstairs, so after years and years of going to Skylon - NEVER again. Whole thing over in less than an hour, cost £148. Stick to a drink only if you want to enjoy the lovely space (the view of the Thames is obscured by the trees and lines of lights anyway). You won't have a problem getting a window seat - place was empty at 21:45 on a Thursday. Londoners probably aren't as stupid as we were and avoid this place nowadays, but tourists are evidently doing the same thing!

    Duck for dinner? Oh no, no, no… Unlike some others, our table did not have a tablecloth even though we marked on our booking that meal was a special occasion. Wine was ok but that’s where it ends. Duck salad looked like a child’s drawing and Pumpkin soup was tasty and hot but with a soggy kale on top. Still we were hopeful main would be better. How wrong were we…. Ravioli were huge and appeared as caught on the plate from a great hight. On the other hand, duck breast my husband had was so small that I felt embarrassed by the size of my portion. Duck slice wanted to appear posh but it was surrounded by the uncooked fat and a spoonful of a grainy mash. Poor over that watery sauce with big chunks of spring onion as our waiter did and plate turned into a soupy concoction with a small meaty dumpling in the middle. Lucky for the side of fries and creamed spinach otherwise my hubby would have been hungry…. We feared ordering a desert, so went away without our treat. Used to be my favourite “go to” place in the area but no more. What a shame, what has gone wrong Skylon? Concert in the Royal Festival Hall was amazing and we still managed to enjoy our evening :)

    Lovely evening. Reliable varied menu. Service quick witted, generous, and understanding. Skylon continues to deliver. Always enjoy coming back here.

    Our waitress did not know what things were on the menu - when we asked about some of the sides she couldn’t tell us what they were. Someone asked for a dark beer and was given a Peroni. Poor selection of non alcoholic drinks. Some of the food was very good - fish and chips, pork belly, and churros Others were average - duck and sticky toffee pudding.
