Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Kids and adults can enjoy a variety of games, the very popular shark bar and 'shrimp boat' playground. Kids can play while families are waiting for a table, or simply enjoying the amazing waterfront views.

We come here for brunch and dinner every year we visit HHI. It’s delicious and our waiter Tommy was awesome.

We were sadly quite disappointed with Dockside. Based on the rave reviews, we expected a lot more. The hostess wasn't very welcoming, barely making eye contact and repeated her "script" but without any hospitality. We were seated promptly since we had made a reservation (4:45pm) but the service ended there. Our waiter was friendly but after an hour of sitting at our table our food hadn't arrived. He apologized nicely amd have us bread and butter for the table (which i guess should have come out as soon as we sat down?) but it still took another 15 minutes for anything to eat and then our appetizer came out at the same time as our entrees. By then our kids were bored, had filled up on bread and didn't eat their dinners. For an expensive meal and high expectations, it just didn't live up to the hype. We won't be back. Hudson's down the street is way better!

Our server made up for mediocre food. Lobster tail overcooked and ribs were dry. Service was fantastic!

Hit and miss. My son got a ribeye and it was all fat. I had fish and chips and it was very average. Others in our party had very good meals. Party of 5 spent close to $300, and it was not worth it. Very crowded and service was good.

Margarita flatbread had no fresh tomato or fresh basil on it. It was not a margarita style, but it was more like a cheese flatbread with pesto on it. The crab cake was bland and plain. The Steaks ordered were good and very well cooked. But the whipped potatoes were runny and over buttered. Crab stuffed trout was ok but covered in a Dijon sauce that tasted like a ton of grey poupon.

Our group of six were warmly welcomed as we entered. Initially lead to a booth; when we noted that one of our number had physical difficulties with booths the hostess quickly put two tables together (with an even better view of Skull Creek. With three different menus from which to choose everyone found items they enjoyed. Dre was a personable and attentive server, although problems with his hand held device led to some delay in our payments. Everyone affirmed that Sunday brunch at Dockside is a great experience.

Love the Sunday brunches!! Our server, Mary Sue, was adorable. I asked for and enjoyed an Aperol spritz, not on the menu, and noticed that others did the same. Maybe consider dropping the price a tad. Love the covered patio and the view. We’ve been there three times for brunch over the past couple of trips to HH this year, and will be returning again in September. Cheers!
