Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Kids and adults can enjoy a variety of games, the very popular shark bar and 'shrimp boat' playground. Kids can play while families are waiting for a table, or simply enjoying the amazing waterfront views.

Server was fun and informative, treated us exceptionally personal and caring. We all ordered something different and everyone was happy with the quality and quantity.

Nice time, especially for outdoor dining. Grouper Dockside is our favorite entree, and it was excellent again.

We had lovely weather and a really nice server! Our food was so tasty! Really enjoyed the experience!

Efficient service and a quality wait staff but the food was just ok for all of us. Nothing g to really complain about but nothing any of us would order again except the meatloaf my mother ordered as she was very happy/impressed. The hush puppies were very odd and had an after taste that wasn’t attractive so no one had a second, the fried pickles were good overall, the brisket did not have a lot of flavor without the bbq sauce, ribs were very salty, my wife’s risotto was not a win at all as she said it was firm and had mediocre flavor. We will try another local hot spot but unlikely to return to this any time soon

They have different things on their menu. The She crab soup was very good and the grilled pear salad was wonderful. Very good fish and chips. The noise was very loud

Sat outside on a beautiful evening. Ordered grilled shrimp with my dish, but they looked like “cooked”shrimp instead of grilled. Absolutely no grill markings. No seasoning on shrimp, not even salt or pepper. Very unusual! Bread plates on table but no bread offered.

It was our first visit and a beautiful evening to enjoy the view from the patio. Arrived at 6:00pm for our reservation and were promptly seated. Nice selection of food options at what we considered reasonable prices for the area. Kept having the feeling they were short staffed for the evening, not the usual waiter, guest experience.
