Sister is a restaurant project from Duro Hospitality. Sister will live in the halls of the famed Grape, a Dallas icon for over 40 years. She will serve loosely Italian-inspired neighborhood fare, wood-fired meats and fish, daily house made pasta, and lightly Mediterranean inspired cuisine. The design will feel like a family Trattoria that has grown through the years including collected memorabilia giving the space a quirky and playful feeling. Sister will be a relaxed and comfortable neighborhood spot for every day. Sister is open seven nights per week.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner there. The food, service and whole package was wonderful. We will return.

My experiences at Sister have impressed me every time, and I suspect that will persist through future visits. Gnoccho Romano? More like yummo deliciano. Branzino? More like branzinyes. Charred octopus? More like starred octopus. We got the focaccia and it is absolutely out of this world. Like, literally out of this world. It’s been eaten. We ate it all. The pesto fusilli is a favorite of mine as well, don’t miss it! The staff here are so kind and engaging. They, in tandem with the restaurant’s beautiful interior and stellar management, cultivate a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere that should keep Sister a regular on anybody’s roster.

I never ever leave bad reviews, but this one honestly needs it. Place has a lot of potential and is really cool but honestly the food was horrible. Had an eggplant dip that tasted quite literally like I was eating ash from a fire place. Meatballs that I was hoping to be very good but tasted like they just threw in some taco seasoning. And a pasta that had almost no flavor, it was supposed to be their take on carbonara, I appreciate it being lighter but needed something. Our waitress wasn’t the nicest, but was fine. Ended up spending around $150 for horrible food and just a cool place

A phenomenal experience, as always. Victor took fantastic care of us and the whole restaurant staff, from waiters, runners, bussers, the bartender, and management took time to wish my wife a happy birthday. We feel like royalty and family every time we visit and always look forward to our next time. Bravo!

Was disappointed they didn't recognize our anniversary. The fish was very fishy and we couldn't eat it.

Finally! I've found the restaurant I've been looking for in Dallas. Sister has the right mix of a creative and well-executed menu, friendly unpretentious atmosphere, and genuine down-to-earth hospitality. I've been craving a fine dining experience just like this since moving here. Kristen, our stellar server, described the food as "Italian-ish" in jaunty verbal italics, and everything continued to go up from there as she made sure we had a memorable first visit. Every dish was cooked to technical perfection, from the tender wood-fired chicken, to bouncy al dente fusilli, fluffy and tender fingerling potatoes, and meltingly tender short rib. The octopus was described to us as the best in Dallas. I thought, "How different can it be?" But wow. She was right. Just order it. Even better, every bite was a celebration of flavors from zingy to peppery to tart to rich. The grilled kale retained a smokiness that made the dish far more satisfying than a simple kale salad. The choice to pair radicchio with the short rib was lovely. The pairing of radicchio + short rib + cacio e pepe potatoes that showed up as a welcome surprise was even lovelier. This meal was an artful presentation on my palate as well as a visual feast on the plate. I can't fully explain it. Maybe it was the Chica de la Noche cocktail I had, maybe it was the smile that greeted us at the front door, maybe it was Kristen guiding our experience, maybe it was the greenery and décor...but I felt simultaneously like I was at home and also on a European vacation. And honestly, isn't that where we'd all like to be? If you love Odd Duck (Austin), Nancy's Hustle (Houston), and Supper (NYC's LES) like I do, you have to visit Sister.
