Donald McIsaac erected this beautiful three storey brick building in 1862-1864 on Sims Corner, so called because the property had been in the possession of Thomas and Charlotte Alchorn Sims from 1806.

The most colourful owner and occupant of the building was Mr. P.P. Gillis, who ran the “Red Pharmacy” between 1895 and 1910.

A drug-store in the front half of the building and a reputed conviviality shop in the rear, proved very popular with local businessmen while prohibition was in effect. This location has also been a large family home, apartments and a barber shop.

In the fall of 2005 local restaurateur Murphy's purchased the building and began the process of renovating to create what you are experiencing today.

Murphy Hospitality Group is proud to present you with Prince Edward Island’s first authentic Steakhouse, and “Atlantic Canada’s Premier Steakhouse Experience”.

although it was quite expensive and my bill came to almost 200$ the service was outstanding it was the best service i have ever had while dinning out. the food was wonderful from just the bread to the to the appetizers and the mains and desserts it was all around just delicious. The best dinning experience i have ever had.

If you’re looking for a great steak, Sim’s is the right choice. We enjoyed a Winterdine meal here and loved the meatballs app and steak entré. The desert was fine but not over the top. Service was quick and excellent. Wine pairings were a real treat.

A perfect spot to eat, the food beautifully prepared and cooked, steak oh so tender, and cooked to our perfection, garlic mashed, and root veggies..We tried the baked oysters, along with fresh raw oysters, so so lovely..great experience!

A beautiful steak meal for Winterdine. The steak was perfectly prepared and everything else was delicious as well. Our server, Megan always came to the table with a smile and had time for a chat. We enjoyed the whole evening!

We returned to try Winterdine menu (a preset menu at $55 ) after a gap of a couple years because prior experiences were underwhelming. This experience restored our interest. The set menu for Winterdine was very nice with the added feature of a wine pairing that turned out to be very appropriate and reasonably priced. The food was very tasty and served hot. The steaks were cooked as we requested. Portions were generous. The service was much improved but there is still room to grow. Overall we enjoyed our experience and it enticed us to return.

The atmosphere was perfect and the service was friendly and attentive. But, oh my, the steak was absolute perfection. It is not in our regular budget (we had a gift card) but it was a really nice treat. Looking forward to another visit in the future.

We've been to Sims many times before and it's normally great. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, very professional staff. However, we had what I am hoping is a one off experience during this recent visit where the staff were slightly rude.
