Silver Dove Afternoon Tea is a full service tearoom in Downtown Boston specializing in English style afternoon tea service. Steps from Government Center and the Freedom Trail, an experience at Silver Dove includes a pot of tea and a curated selection of finger foods. The food is a set menu and fixed price consisting of a variety of finger sandwiches, savory canapés, cakes, scones, macarons and other pastries which rotate seasonally.

We offer 90 minute reservations for afternoon tea Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are available up to six weeks in advance. We can accommodate parties of up to six guests on weekends, and parties of up to twelve guests Wednesday through Friday.

We serve a wide selection of teas and herbal infusions from around the world and of various styles. We also provide a selection of craft cocktails and mocktails, as well as sparkling and still wines.

Our kitchen is completely gluten free (and oat free). We are independently owned and operated.

Creative, delicious high tea with nice seasonal flavors. We also liked that everything was gluten-free. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Although there wasn’t a tablecloth, which I missed, the place settings were elegant and included customized teapots with clever brewing inserts. Overall, we’re eager to return.

Food was good. Tea choices were plenty. I had the English Breakfast which was very good. The desserts weren’t my favorite. Lovely setting. I hope to go back.

Celebrated my birthday here and had a wonderful time! Have a friend with celiac so was happy to find a completely gluten free place. Everything was delicious!

This was a lovely tea house! The food was very good, as was their tea selection. The seating was a bit awkward to get into, but comfortable once sat. I highly recommend. It was also wasn’t necessary to be dressed above and beyond. Not living in the city, what I brought clothing wise was minimal and I never felt I was out of place. Business casual was perfect. And the menu was gluten free, which was a big plus! The only thing I could tell was gluten free was the chocolate cake. Still very good, just a little dry.

Super allergy friendly (I'm gluten/dairy free and have nut allergies), the tea was really good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Celebrated my moms 60 something birthday here with my grandmother and cousin. The owners and staff were hospitable and kind. Food was delicious; interesting but not overwhelming. Light but also filling. They were also very accommodating to the allergies of our group. I can’t say enough nice things about our experience.

So fun! Loved the whole experience. The tiny sandwiches were yum. Would definitely go again.

What a wonderful place! Just amazing that everything is gluten-free; it’s all delicious and you can’t tell at all. They handled a nut allergy perfectly as well. Service was wonderful and it was just an all-around delight.
