I hadn't been to this location in many years. The food is still excellent. The service was very good. But the restaurant needs some updating. Drinks were also very good. I had a mai tai which was delicious. Prices are high, but I was expecting that.

it’s gotten so expensive! Food was very good but they tend to “throw“ the food at you. it’s not exactly a touchy feely experience that you’d expect at a fine dining restaurant

Very uncomfortable having the loud fire alarm go off continually as well as the strobe lights. We found it very triggering. Waitet did not seem to care, saying simply “it happens all the time.” was not able to answer questions about ingredients when asked about nuts. Very disappointing. We have been to here in the past and did not experience this.

Old, tired, and vastly overpriced. But if you’ve a show at Lincoln Center and everything else is booked, you’ll likely get a table at Shun Lee. So, it has its uses.

One thing I find not great at Shun Lee West is the abruptness of the wait staff. I appreciate quick service but none of the wait staff is anything near cordial. They are too quick to remove plates, throw the food on the table and the idea of gracious dining at their high price level of a restaurant is non existent. We had 3 fire drills during dinner. No one apologized , made an announcement these were only drills and no courtesy toward the diners while this was happening. Shameful!!!!
