A la carte items were just okay. The quality of the ingredients was good, but the execution of some of the dishes fell short. The service was a little slow but that was understandable as it was busy.

Outstanding, fresh fish every time! You don't have to worry if the fish is old, the professional Sushi Chefs know their fish. All of the servers are always attentive to all tables, you never have to "search" for someone. Shumi is the place to go to for traditional, real sushi; the right amount of rice, perfectly sliced fish, and the just right topping if used. We always bring our favorite Sake to enhance the sushi taste.

We’ve been coming here for about two months and I’m so glad that I found this place. The fish is incredibly fresh. The portion sizes are perfect and the service is always good. It’s bring your own so that’s nice and saves money. Highly recommend

We had the mini omakase experience which was absolutely sublime. The precise attention to detail for each course served was evident and the culinary results were amazing!

Great sushi in ridgewood! Wish there were 1 or 2 more cooked options! Love the miso sea bass appetizer would love to see this as an entree portion with a rice dish!
