Modern Cafe Culture in the heart of Chester.
Whether it's a coffee in the morning, a light lunch on the terrace with a glass of wine from our eclectic selection, to an intimate dinner for two in the restaurant, we aim to offer something for everyone at every time of the day.

Food great. Missed the'meat balls'though as goes well with the potato terrine and broc. Rigatoni was beautiful, sauce very umami, like the use if fermented veg. in it, clever! Always find the music a bit loud and think something a bit mellower more appropriate. Also, the planters on balcony very nice etc. but would be better further down so can see down onto street. All in all, love it!

Lovely meal for Father’s Day and so nice as vegans and vegetarians to be able to choose anything from a menu!!!

We absolutely loved our trip to Shrub!! My friends and I were celebrating thirty years of friendship since meeting at university in 1994 and we couldn’t have picked a better place to eat. The food was sublime, the restaurant is stunning and the service was beyond brilliant. Anna, we loved you!

Excellent vegan restaurant. Great range of food and drinks. Staff couldn’t have been better. They serve small plates, tapas-style and the ones we had were delicious. Service was timely and price not overly outrageous for city .

As ever, it was great! Bought two overseas non-vegan friends who were blown away. Only one "niggle": for the first time, a slight negative (only because I am such a super fan!) on food. The onion bhajii were overcooked so not was perfect as I've had before - and I order them every visit!!

Excellent food and service as always. Love the new additions to the menu. Portion sizes are great and the food is always fresh and varied with lots of interesting sauces and flavours.
