Shorty's Steakhouse is a unique dining experience. Established more than 20 years ago, along the historic Randolph Street in downtown Garrett, Indiana. Shorty's Executive Head Chef James Morrow has created & curated our menu over 10 years, carefully straddling the line of fine steakhouse dining, with small-town Indiana fare.

We are located in Garrett, Indiana, 10 minutes from the historic Auburn downtown and the ACD museum. Also, 20 minutes north of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 15 minutes from Kendallville, Indiana and 25 minutes south of Angola, Indiana. We love that we bring all these communities together at Shorty's.

Shorty's is proud to offer bar seating, family room seating and an outdoor patio we completed last year.
We are laid-back and believe our guests' enjoy the incredible service & food without having to "dress-up".
We embrace the great and growing community of Garrett, Indiana and love that we can share amazing cuisine in an unexpected location.

We showed up with a reservation for 3 at 6:45 and when the hostess seated us they put us at a table with no space to move chairs due to full tables on both sides of us. When the young lady sat us we asked for a table that was open in the middle of the room that had plenty of space to pull chairs out but we were told it wasn’t available due to a 7pm reservation. Makes no sense that the first table to be seated wouldn’t be able to use the open table. And when the other party arrived it was two people that would have been more comfortable at the table we were given. I just thought this was not great customer service. And could have been easily rectified. The food was delicious as always and the server was great. If the initial issue had been dealt with as requested it would have been high marks all across the board.

Food and service are always excellent. Unsure why the music was so loud. While it was my kind of rock, it was still hard to hear over to talk.

Our table was not ready at the time of our reservation. Unfortunately, we were seated right across from the kitchen door, which was extremely loud and chaotic. We battled several flies while we were trying to eat, and we could barely hear each other talk. Overall, I was very disappointed. I had to ask the gentleman that dropped off our food if he could get us more drinks. The food was ok but I expected much more for a $217.00 dollar meal. I did leave a $40 tip because the waitress was as tentative as she could be with as busy as she was. The bartender was great prior to our table being ready as she took our drink order and the martini was fabulous.
