The chef at Shiso Omakase was incredibly friendly and engaging, making the experience unforgettable. The sushi was the best I've ever had – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

The service was atrocious. We waited 20+ minutes to be served sushi, another 5 to get soy sauce and ginger while a number of other parties (with reservations) queued up and waited. We needed to remind the server 4 times about our last two dishes. Sheer lack of professionalism by the girl who was the hostess and server as we were told they ran out rice and they didn’t expect all patrons to honour their reservation. Luckily the food was good. It’s quite unfortunate as sushi was good. Overall would not recommend despite the price.

For a flat price there was generous portions of sushi, miso soup, a hand roll and dessert. A very nice saki complimented the meal. Very pretty place with excellent service

Horrible experience. Sushi chef tried to cheat us by not serving 18 pieces for an 18 piece omakase we ordered and paid for. I had to call out the sushi chef and ask that we never got all 18 pieces and only then he reluctantly gave us 2 additional pieces. There was also a crazy young female server who attempted to gaslight me by saying we never serve the same 18 pieces to all customers. Was putting the blame on me for calling her out!!!!! I’m never going back there again and will keep writing poor reviews as I have never experienced such nasty service and hospitality at any restaurants before!!!

Odd. Ran out of alcohol. Servers were underage and a bit eccentric. Sushi was good but it was not your normal sushi experience. Def won’t be back.

Hi, We do not sell alcohol, we ran out of complimentary sake. Complimentary meaning we are not mandated to have it in stock or available; Complimentary meaning it is distributed at our discretion. You asked our server for a drink menu, she informed you we don't sell alcoholic beverages, but that we might have some "COMPLIMENTARY" sake available. Upon learning there was none left, we informed you you were also welcome to bring your own beverages from outside. You proceeded with service. You mentioned sushi was good, yet you gave it a 1 star... You mentioned our servers were eccentric. Did you mean happy to work? Happy to serve you? Your review is odd.

!!!!! Not recommended!!!!!The worst experience omakase dining in my life. We have reservation at 7.30 pm but I got sat around 8.20pm while restaurant is empty. Chef served the 1st piece but the sever still didn't come to service. We didn't got menu, not even water. no allergy concerns to prepare sushi.(they are ignore me), we didn't get any attention at all. overall experience is need to be improved. I don't think restaurant was ready to operate, so unprofessional. Such a very bad experience!!!! Waste my time here.

Really great place in East village. We had chef Steven who made our experience memorable. Great food, great music. Will come again.

I came to Shiso after walking past it several times this year and was truly impressed. The restaurant was empty but that did not factor into my experience at all. My server was great and welcoming. The food was fresh and tasty. Good place great location.

Shiso in omakase was a revelation. Its minty freshness enhanced the sashimi and sushi, adding a unique herbal note that balanced perfectly with the seafood's delicate flavors. Its crisp texture and health benefits made each bite not only delicious but also nutritious. A must-have in any omakase experience
