Experience the best of Shimogamo with our Omakase menu, which means “leave it up to you”. Our expert staff will curate a menu, tailored to your preferences and dietary restrictions. Please note that this is not a customly created chef's tasting course, but rather a compilation of our existing menu and specials of the day. Designed for sharing, this menu is perfect for groups of two or more and requires a minimum of two guests. To ensure availability, reservations are required. The Omakase menu is priced per person and excludes tax and gratuity. Beverages are not included in the course but can be added at an additional cost. Please allow approximately two hours for a party of two, and three hours or more for larger groups.

We booked the Omakase counter service. However we were seated at the weirdest table with no explanation why we were moved from the counter to table. My chair was pushed into a hallway and I was weirdly in the way of the path to the restroom. There was zero ambiance - I looked at white walls. My husband had a nicer view, but we were not seated at a counter, but instead tucked away in a bland corner. I’ll note we had reservations and had requested counter seating. The service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and we had great information about the food. I will say that our server adjusted our dinner to our preferences and listened to our requests, which did not include food from the kitchen but instead only fish. We left full but someone with a larger appetite may not have been satisfied. The fish was fresh and nicely presented. However 2 is the 10 dishes had truffle oil, which was overpowering and did not allow the fish to shine. Also, truffle oil is not a flavor I particularly enjoy. We will go back to order off the menu and would make different choices. I don’t think we can recommend the omakase, sadly. It wasn’t a great value and the focus wasn’t the fish for the two dishes that included strong truffle oil flavor. For $160 per person for the omakase, I would suggest ordering the items you like from the menu instead.

Shimogamo is one of my family’s favorite places. I live in New York and anytime I’m in town my parents want to go there and I never object. This time we were celebrating my mom’s birthday and Grace our server made it amazing. #amazinggrace. She was so sweet to my mom and really doted on her for her special day. The food was immaculate and every dish presentation decadent. Thank you Shimogamo and Amazing Grace for making our experience and my mom’s birthday so wonderful! 🫶🏼

Shimogamo was wonderful as usual. It was a very busy night!! We sat at the sushi bar, which is always nice. Service was very attentive - water glasses always refilled quickly, check ins to see how everything was. Two new sashimi choices on the menu were outstanding.

It was our first time at Shimogamo, and we had an incredible experience! We sat at the sushi bar, where our server and even the couple next to us—clearly regulars—gave us excellent recommendations. Every dish was absolutely delicious, and we truly enjoyed everything. Thank you for a fantastic evening; we can't wait to come back!

Sushi was very fresh. Everything we ordered (and it was a lot) was yummy, and the portions were nice-sized

The quality of the fish is excellent. A lot of choices of special fish that other sushi restaurants don't have. Great cooked food options from the kitchen too. The cocktail list is creative and varied.
