"Bringing Gluten-Free Soba to the People"

The Japanese word “soba” refers both to the buckwheat plant as well as the noodles made from buckwheat flour. Soba is typically served in a hot aromatic broth topped with chicken, tempura prawns or a selection of vegetables or served cooled on an elegant bamboo tray with delicate dipping sauce.

Soba is one of the world’s most nutritious food and an abundant source of protein. Containing a well-balanced combination of amino acids, it has the highest protein make-up than any of the grains and is also rich in vitamin. Additionally, soba is low in fat and high in dietary fibre.

Soba’s long and slender shape has come to symbolise stability and longevity. It is traditional in Japan to eat soba (toshi-koshi soba) on New Year’s Eve to acknowledge the passing of the old year and to welcome in the new.

Bloody wonderful food after not being out for a meal for 18 months. Perfect for gluten-free-ers. Will definitely return

Always great service. The menu is entirely gluten-free with zero compromises in flavour and quality. The fresh soba (buckwheat noodles) is outstanding. So good to eat delicious Japanese noodles without worrying about gluten contamination. I love the sake tasting bowl (4 assorted small bottles of sake served in a bowl of ice). I love that I can choose from a selection of gluten-free beer. I highly recommend Shimbashi whether or not you are gluten-free.

Half frozen edamame served w half hot. Soup broth lost it’s complexity of flavours, no excuse a really average broth /soup w one piece of green…. Buckwheat noodles still fabulous but our favourite place has lost its zing, Totally average and will not return😢
