Having always been at the heart of Valley life, the 17th century Shibden Mill Inn was originally a corn and spinning mill, before being converted into a country pub in 1890.

Today’s visitors are welcomed with warm hospitality to enjoy first class dining against an inviting backdrop of open fires, low beamed ceilings and a cosy bar. Eleven individually styled bedrooms make comfortable and luxurious retreats, epitomising boutique country style and featuring lots of thoughtful touches.

And if you can drag yourself away from the Inn, there are wonderful walks from the doorstep and world class attractions within easy reach. For a spot of retail therapy or a cultural fix, Halifax is a 10-minute drive and Leeds is just 30 minutes away.

Myself and my partner visited on Sunday for a Sunday lunch we often visit the mill inn but had not eaten inside for sometime , always a warm welcome and seated to our table straight away we had the 2 course Sunday menu , I had the cod fish cake which was to die for absolutely delicious my partner had the chicken parfait which he said was really good , to follow I had the roast beef which was served with roast potatoes mashed potatoes green beans red cabbage and cauliflower cheese I really enjoyed it the beef was cooked pink just to my liking and the veg was beautiful, my partner had the beef cheek which he said melted in his mouth and very tasty , he also asked for a extra Yorkshire pudding him been greedy and this wasn’t charged for which I thought was lovely great food atmosphere and service , my only negative would be the automatic service charge on the bill , I like to tip for good service but at my own discretion I believe this is a new system as I’ve not noticed it on my previous visits

First of all, let me say that the ambience of your restaurant was absolutely beautiful and we really did enjoy our first two courses . This was a family meal, so quite a special occasion . We opted for the three courses, starters, main and desserts . The first two courses were absolutely stunning however four of us ordered the rum babbas and they really were not very good at all. I can only describe them as a hard bread like texture that wasn’t sweet and very dense, we didn’t enjoy these at all . I did let the waitress know at the end of our meal when she asked us if everything was okay and I explained that everything had been lovely minus the desserts . Given that our bill was around £277 I would’ve at least expected for those desserts to have been refunded or for an offer of alternative desserts or drinks to have been made. Had the tasting menu and wine flight to celebrate an important milestone. Eating alone, so a little nervous, but the ambiance in the restaurant was lovely, the waiting staff were very well informed and attentive, and the food and wines divine. A meal fit for the gods!

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with lunch there and it was everything we had hoped for. We’ve been many times before for family events and social events and it never disappoints. Just remember to book your table - it’s that popular!! Enjoy:)

Really nice place, for what you get I don't think it was value for money but as a treat I would not deter anyone from going. Give it a try. The staff and ambience are amazing.

I’ve eaten at the Mill several times and always enjoyed it - but first time with one of my daughters and she was very impressed and we both enjoyed an exceptional meal , so thank you to all the people at Shibden Mill who make that happen

Had a lovely meal with some german colleagues who had never been before . Everybody had a really great night with lovley food and some nice whiskey
