Great food, not so great service. It was a Sunday night and they did have two large group things going on. But the servers definitely do not work as a team! As someone whose family is in the restaurant business, I do not ding the servers if it is very busy. But, we were seated and the servers who walked by the table clearly did not want to acknowledge we were there. They seriously avoided eye contact. Maybe this is a management issue. Even if this was not their table, they should have acknowledged us with a 'someone will be with you soon'. Just my pet peeve! I think that as soon as you are seated, someone should at least offer you a drink and some bread, in case you are starving after a long day...as I was!

Service was slow and not attentive to orders Server missed serving my wife’s salad with mine $1.00 extra per drink for olives is out of being reasonable Restaurant was very dark and noisy Decorate needs severe updating if it is support their pricing

Shadwells is a gem of a restaurant and a highlight of the area's many restaurants. I have been dining here since it opened and it has never disappointed me or the many friends I have taken to join me in a great meal. Returning friends often ask me to make a reservation at the restaurant to assure that they get a wonderful meal while in Charlottesville. I appreciate that you periodically update your menu with attractive entries and that you never lose sight of the need for a place that offers a diverse menu that meets the needs of many visitors

The food and service was wonderful. We went with a larger group to celebrate our sons graduation and they put us in a nice semi-private room and made certain we were happy the entire time. We will definitely be returning to Shadwells.

Food was delicious! Our waiter didn't seem to know the menu and brought out the wrong food, this was corrected. Main issue was their kids Mac n cheese comes out on a flaming hot skillet... Ok for an adult but not for a 3 year old!! This is a lawsuit waiting to happen!

Great food and comfortable seating. Service was good at best as waiter visits were few and far between and the restaurant is very loud. But it was a very busy night.

$15 cocktail and a $14 hamburger. Good food, but pricing a drink that high was a surprise.

WE had quit going to Shadwell's because the quality of the food was not as good, the roof leaked, attitude was not good etc. But we returned this week after eating in a lot and to our delight things have turned around. The decor is much better, the menu is better and the food was good!. Happily our favorite waiter, Mike Sweeney. was still there and the night was a success and we will be back. Sadly due to aging and health issues we no longer eat out once a week but are pleased to have SHadwell's on our A list again.
