The Seven Stars is a 16th century country inn situated in the heart of Surrey, close to both Dorking and Reigate, with Gatwick airport seven miles away. It has wealth of character which includes a large inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings, recently renovated gardens and patios along with ample parking.
An extension that now forms the main dining area was completed in 1996 and won the British Heritage Development Award for that year.
The Seven Stars has a great atmosphere, we have strived to keep it a village pub where friends and locals meet up to wine, dine and and enjoy freshly cooked food, sourced from the local area. We also pride ourselves on our Gluten Free and Vegan options

I’ve visited this pub a few times, it’s a beautiful old English pub and the food is delicious.

An extremely tasty meal. The staff could not do more to accommodate us from the very beginning when I phoned to change my booking on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Service was a little slow at times but totally understandable considering how busy it was. Probably the only improvement I would suggest is that the room became quite hot and stuffy with the number of people in there. Maybe the odd open window would suffice. However there was a gale blowing outside so again - totally understandable.

A very enjoyable evening in a cosy restaurant, the staff were friendly and attentive and although the menu was not extensive, there were some different dishes. We all enjoyed the food that we had chosen and will go again

First time here menu looked good. Calamari starter was good but our main was poor, neither of us finished it. We both had Hungarian goulash which sounded good BUT it looked unappetising and was. The meat looked over cooked and dry. Taste was bland and lacked flavour we should have sent it back……. When plates were collected we said it was disappointing, we received an apology and were told that the chef would be advised. No further feedback. Eventually we saw the dessert menu but decided to leave. We regularly dine out with friends and looked forward to our visit, the pub has a good feel and pleasant ambience but we were disappointed in the apparent lack of concern about comment. Disappointed, one can get a poor meal anywhere but how it is received matters. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT A FREEBIE!

Sunday roasts were on the expensive side at £20 per main. Children's desserts we're also too pricey at £5 per scoop of ice cream. Pub is lovely, service was great. But at £140 (including a £36 bottle of wine) for a family of 4 it was rather punchy.

Great service and a lovely meal Really good with the 2 younger children and accommodated there wishes Would definitely eat there again
