Located within the Grandscape development in The Colony, Texas, Seven Doors Kitchen & Cocktails is an approachable modern American grill serving chef-inspired shared plates and entrées. Named for our collection of French colonial doors from The 1800s that appear throughout the restaurant, Seven Doors has created a unique and uplifting environment for our diners to enjoy our great food & cocktails all served with love and gratitude.

I recently returned to this restaurant with my wife for a Valentine’s Day dinner, having previously enjoyed a positive experience. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, the hostess was as friendly as always, and we were seated about 10 minutes ahead of our reservation. However, the service soon took a downturn. After being seated, we waited approximately 10 minutes before someone brought us water. Another 10 minutes passed before a waitress arrived, and the initial interaction was far from welcoming. The waitress was not warm or engaging, which set a negative tone for the meal. We ordered appetizers, which arrived promptly. While the oysters and sushi were excellent, the calamari was disappointing, as it was more fried lemon than actual calamari. When we ordered drinks, the server brought them without mentioning that they had run out of the bacon garnish, and it wasn’t until my wife pointed out the missing bacon that the waitress explained it. Instead of the bacon, two cherries were provided, which didn’t quite meet expectations. The main course also encountered issues. A server mistakenly delivered my entrée to another table, leaving me waiting while my wife ate. About five minutes into the wait, the manager explained the mix-up and assured me my food would arrive shortly, which it did after another 10 minutes. Unfortunately, when it did arrive, the steak had parts that were charred and had a bitter taste. The situation was further compounded when the server returned to interrupt our conversation, informing us that the manager wanted to offer a complimentary dessert as compensation. While I understand that holidays can be challenging for restaurants, it’s important that staff remain positive and professional, even when mistakes occur. As customers, we expect a high level of service and courtesy, and I believe that addressing these concerns would improve the overall experience.

The food is truly the star here! Had the truffle fries and sushi for appetizers and both were so delicious! I had the Chicken Penne alla vodka and my wife the braised rib and they were both so delicious and full of flavor. Value is AMAZING for the quality of the food. The inside is beautiful and ambiance was comfortable and relaxing. Although this is not an insult by any means this restaurant is not an expensive steakhouse so don't expect that type of ambiance (low lights, formal attire severs, $100 steaks lol) here. Perfect date night, we will be going back often!

My husband and I both got sick from dinner about 2 hours after we left. We had different main courses but shared an appetizer and dessert. It was obviously something we ata - same symptoms and same timing.

Everything was ok. The French dip was good, but the calamari was soggy. The espresso martini was not shaken, like it was pre made, and was $22, not worth the price even if it was $14. Service was ok, but then when they split the check, did not split out the appetizers cost and all on one persons check.
