Sète (named after the coastal town in France) is a wine bar, shop, and kitchen.

Our doors opened to the wine bar in October 2022 and the restaurant and garden in July 2023. The seasonal menu focuses on modern European cooking with a heavy French influence, highlighting the best produce Kent has to offer.

Wine is certainly at the heart of what we love. With an ever evolving list that highlights old world classics, accessible natural wines, female winemakers and exciting next generation vintners. We also serve a seasonally changing list of wine on tap and host private tastings.

Behind Sète is Natalia Ribbe who has worked across restaurants in Vienna, NYC and London, as well as the founder of the female collective; L.O.R.

In the kitchen is Head Chef Billy Stock who joins us from The Rose Inn in Wickembraux, St. John, The Marksman and Rochelle at the ICA to name a few.

I had a Delicious lunch here but unfortunately I have particularly fussy friends and menu a little limited, so check before you go. I couldn’t fault it personally with very efficient friendly staff. Loved the atmosphere and vibe of this place & bonus of a little garden at the back of the restaurant. Definitely recommend ☺️

Although the food was just about good, the service was more than poor. Staff were patronising and over familiar. We were treated as if they were doing us a favour. They failed to clear plates. The other problem was the size of the table. Although we had booked well in advance for three people we were seated at a table that could just about accommodate two. It was very uncomfortable. All in all a disappointing meal.

I'd read great things about Sète and was not disappointed. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived and extremly well looked after throughout. The staff were attentive and friendly but not intrusive. And the food! The burrata with peach and tomatoes was incredible. In fact, everything I ate was perfection and the wine selection was extensive. I'd highly recommend a trip to try out this perfect little spot.
