Secret Bao is one of the best restaurants in Santa Barbara. The food, menu selections, service & ambience, both inside & outside, are wonderful!

This is our favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara. The menu is interesting and often changing. It is innovative and always delicious. They combine ingredients in a very creative way. And the waitstaff is always attentive and top notch!

Everything was amazing. I wish I could remember our servers name though. I know the food being amazing is not a surprize, but I was very impressed by our servers mastery of the items we ordered and how she was able to time each items arrival. Not just by the perfection of the timing, but really the type of item in the order of the style of food paring. We ordered every Bao, we secured the Hamachi collar, we ordered the paella, we also ordered several starters and drinks, and it was all perfectly timed. I also wouldn't be stressing this as much, but I found out by speaking with her that She has only been working there a month. Very impressive. Again. Superb all the way around, topped by the excellent service by this young server. Great food, great experience!

My husband and I had dinner last night at Secret Bao on the outside patio. The food was incredible as well as the service. Kathleen was our waitress and she added a lot to our dining experience! She was very attentive. We ordered 5 dishes and shared them and each was amazing. You can't go wrong eating here. We'll be back!

We had quick and attentive service throughout the blight. We enjoyed the patio seating and string lights. Our favorite dishes were the duck spring rolls and the udon carbonara. It was so flavorful and surprisingly light. And we enjoyed the matcha crème brûlée for dessert. Amazing meal from start to finish !

Our second time there and we tried other dishes and they were all terrific. Orders both baos on the menu and loved them. Then came the seafood wontons. Wow! amazing broth that they are in...essence of the sea. And lastly an order of the red crab/noodles dish. Filling and fabulous. There lunch menu is different and a friend and I will soon be trying it. So happy to have this restaurant in Santa Barbara.

My favorite dish was Soy Chili Dumplings. The sauce is the best I've ever tasted, so good I put the left over sauce on my rice. It is that good. My husband's favorite was the KFC Bao. Dessert was the surprise of the night. I'd go back just for the Mango Sticky Rice Bingsu and the Date Cake. Secret Bao parking is easy with garage literally next door. Make reservations for sure!

Shared a bunch of dishes with friends: Spicy hamachi wonton tacos Pork belly fried rice Crab chili noodles KFC bao x 2 Pork belly bao x 2 Seafood dumplings Soy chili dumplings All delicious and just the right amount of food to not feel over full. Paired with the rice lager. Crab chili noodles were my favorite. Super saucy and just the right amount of spice. Went at 8 when they closed at 9 and staff was gracious to let us hang out until we finished up close to 10, closing the place down. Absolute gem of a spot. Love going here!
