A true hidden gem, Sculthorpe Mill is a breath taking pub buried in the heart of the glorious Norfolk countryside built atop the River Wensum. Originally a watermill dating back to 1757, it has been lovingly restored by sisters Siobhan and Caitriona Peyton and they have created a haven for foodies and pub lovers alike, as well as one of the best pub gardens in Norfolk. This is a stunning contemporary dining pub, complete with chic bedrooms and a menu of expertly crafted modern British dishes.

Sculthorpe Mill’s seasonal menu changes regularly to make the most of Norfolk’s bountiful produce and all our core ingredients are locally sourced, foraged from land and sea before being passionately turned into award-winning dishes.

Come spring and summer, our garden is the ideal pace to enjoy an evening meal alfresco, or even just a crisp glass of rosé as you listen to the rush of the river or the buzzing of bees in the flower garden.

Wonderful food, interesting dishes. Unfortunately service was slow, we waited 45 minutes for our meal. It was a Sunday and not over-busy so this was disappointing.

What an amazing place, perfect setting, delicious food and staff are exceptional. We had the best food we’ve had in a long time. What a find. Loved it! One of those places you want to keep a secret. We will be back again and again! Thank you x

Kept waiting about one hour after arrival for main course. Chose steak main course, really tough, required sawing away repeatedly for each mouthful. Chips some very large and others very small pieces cooked to a frazzle as though they were off cuts to make up the amount. Others were equally dissatisfied with their choice of menu. Dessert was good but was not charged for as we had already expressed our dissatisfaction with the food generally.

We had a really lovely, relaxing dining experience! We sat outside, the garden and setting was perfect! Food was tasty and reasonably priced.

Excellent all round . Only fly in the ointment was parking - we had to park precariously on verge outside restaurant. Maybe mark spaces out so people park more efficiently and free up spaces or else buy a bit of land opposite!! Just a suggestion!

A fantastic summer evening from drinks on the terrace to oysters and champagne. A beautiful venue with a traditional pub vibe at the front. Highly recommend. We visited on a Thursday evening and the atmosphere was perfect for during the week. Relatively busy but not packed. Plenty of seating options.

We ate outside by the river wensum and the location was great. We were very well looked after by our waiting staff. 100% recommend.

Really nice setting. Loads of character and very nice decor and ambience. Food was really good. Shame vegetarians and vegans aren't better catered for.
