I had heard so many positive things about Script … now I wonder whether any were genuine reviews!! The restaurant was very quiet - only 3 or 4 tables being used at lunchtime and we did think it was telling that nobody seemed to have ordered a Sunday roast! Our order was taken for starters and then mains … and they all came together. “We thought you wanted them all at once” said our waiter!! We sent the mains back. We didn’t say but did think why are they called starters and mains in the menu?? We ordered 3x vegetable spring rolls. Nice and crispy on the outside and refrigerator cold in the middle. They were quickly returned but not reordered The mains were all a salad variation with either salmon or chicken and were fine, at least by the above standard! We couldn’t be bothered with desserts. On the plus side there’s a lovely view of the golf course. On the minus side …. The poor quality food and pretty similar level of service. Sorry, but this could AND SHOULD be so much better!!!!

Gorgeous setting, especially on a summer evening. Sitting overlooking the golf course felt like being on holiday. Didn’t realise this is more of a lunch restaurant and there were only 3 other tables occupied. Food was good and value for money but a very limited menu. Only 2/5 desserts were available which was a shame, and bar closed at 9! Service was lacking which was a shame, as the staff were very pleasant. 2/4 of our mains were wrong and we were asked for our dessert and coffee order 3 times! Will def go back again but perhaps for lunch.

We went for Father’s Day lunch and ordered 4 starters and four mains they brought all the food at the same time which we obviously would have preferred in courses as usual and were unable to eat most of starters as didn’t want our mains to go cold. We ordered some drinks when food arrived and didn’t receive them till after we had paid the bill. We were actually in the restaurant less than an hour and back home. The staff were very nice but very disorganised. Nobody seemed to be in charge or control. Shame as beautiful setting was expecting a better experience for Father’s Day. This is the second visit. We went last year when it had just opened and were the only four people there all Saturday night. The food was good but again staff really disorganised. They did not accept cash which we had to give to the young waiter who then paid on his credit card. We put this down to being a new venue so gave it a year and tried again. Unfortunately not much has changed

Great food and atmosphere. Sunday lunch with everything! What’s not to like - but bizarrely although the menu included jus we were charged £2 for 2 x gravy. Not on the menu as chargeable and we weren’t advised when ordering. The difference between beef jus and gravy??

The food was very good however would have liked to have had the option of the club menu. The calamari portion was very small but very tasty

Really hope this places gets noticed. The food and service was really good and the views over the golf course are lovely. There is plenty of parking. Come on people, try it!

We visited especially on a friend's recommendation. It was a lovely place and good presentation was exceptional and tasted good. Value was quite expensive 50 pounds for one lunch but we were expecting high prices. Service was good although I am pretty sure our server went on a break a it took a long time for main meals to be collected and coffee to arrive. I would have also happily had a dessert of it had been offered. A nice place and would try again but considering we had visited from abroad especially a little disappointed.

This was our first visit to Script and we will definitely return. It was the Sunday lunch menu but we both chose salads. Great choice and generous amount, they were delicious. It was a shame the sorbet for wasn’t available for dessert but the cheesecake made up for it - maybe next time. This is a lovely venue - felt very relaxed and with great views. The service was quick and friendly and we look forwards to returning.
