Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Food was fantastic as always. But, our server was so unfriendly, she bordered on rude. We had a reservation and were promptly seated and waited over 15 minutes for her to come and even ask about drinks. She didn’t. When she arrived at the table, she wanted our food orders. Food came promptly by another waitstaff member. Our server never checked on us, never offered a coffee refill, nothing. We were still mid-way through our meal and she brought boxes for the table next to us and offered them to us as well. We had to directly ask for more coffee at that time. She came back shortly to offer us our bill, again not asking of we wanted anything else. We still weren’t done eating. We had only been seated for about 45 min at this point. About 10 more minutes she came back, again without asking us if we were done - my friend was still finishing her meal - and our server just started cashing us out at the table. My friend had to put down her fork mid-bite to get her credit card out. We asked for more coffee, and she almost bit my head off. I’ve been coming to Screen Door in the Pearl since it opened, and the Burnside location for 17 years and this was the WORST service I have ever received. I know that it was Sunday morning brunch and we were there a little over an hour but we were being pushed out and it was blatant that our business was not wanted. It was my two friends’ inaugural visit and, although they loved their food, they said they will never return. And, sadly, after declining visits the last few times, my family has eaten there, I will not be returning either. We will go to one of the plethora of other amazing brunch spots in PDX with better service.

Brunch was delicious as usual and the service was outstanding. Fun options to choose from for both food and beverages. Appreciate there is a good diversity in both alcohol based and non-alcohol drinks.

We had a fantastic time at Screen Door. Their food is always delicious. It was our first fund at the Pearl District location and we loved it.

If you go here for anything.... GET THE HOLLANDAISE SAUCE. Best ever. Honestly the only reason I wrote the review. I usually don't. But... ORDER IT. For EVERYTHING

Got super loud as we were finishing our dinner and we were in a booth. Food, service and time was great as we had a show to get too.

Bartender was amazing. Oysters fabulous as usual. Add half and ounce of simple to the passion fruit cocktail - it's too tart, but the simple makes it perfect. Love you guys.

Great food and fantastic service tonight at the Screen Door. Had the deviled eggs, house salad, fried chicken and cranberry crumble dessert. Everything was so good. Our server was super fun and nice. Great experience.
