Enjoy a night of fine wine, mixologist made cocktails and elevated comfort food at a locally owned casual fine dining restaurant in the Shops of Prairie Village. From humble beginnings as a small catering company we have transformed into a one-of-a-kind small boutique restaurant that provides a private and intimate dining experience focused on the food at the table and personal interactions with our team. Come experience the culinary expertise of Chef Taylor Hindman alongside 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine program featuring more than 165 unique wine selections curated by our owner Tyler Morrison.

Scratch is a small gem of a restaurant that provides a surprise and delight as we continue to grow. Since our opening in 2021, Scratch has been awarded Best New Restaurant in Johnson County in 2022 by The Shawnee Mission Post, 2023 Best Caterer in Johnson County, Finalist for Best New Restaurant by KC Magazine, and 2023 Yelp's "People Love Us".

The servers were super friendly but not trained for the price of this menu. If I was at a local pub this would be fine but to put a cheese plate in the table without knowing what the cheese are, which by the way were horribly pedestrian cheeses for the price. Kitchen executed poorly? Everything was ok, nothing was really good including the quality. For the price of this place go to one of the many other places nearby including Story almost next door and you’ll have a much better experience and meal for about the same price. Ownership needs to assess… it should be better for these prices.

My husband is a sea bass fan and this is the best he’s had in over a year - the Dashi broth over top was just right. I had the gnocchi and short rib which was an appetizer I asked for in dinner portion. Lemon tart for me and chocolate sundae for my husband capped off the meal. Desserts can easily be shared. Wine menu is extensive with varied choices. Waiter was personable, pleasant and informative. We’ll be back…soon!

Great place to host a weeknight dinner. Booked a business dinner here while in town. Service was excellent and they easily accommodated adding an extra person to my reservation. The food was delicious, although they were "out of" some items on the menu. Our server, TJ made the experience an absolute JOY. He was very personable, made great recommendations, and added a positive experience. I greatly appreciated him and will be sure to recommend Scratch in the future.

Really amazing food! The candied dates w/bacon were soooo good. Our service was excellent too. Highly recommend this little gem in Prairie Village!

The food was outstanding and it was a perfect night to sit outside. The restaurant rallied when our server was called away for some unknown reason. It’s a special place for a special meal. We will be back and definitely getting the Brussels sprouts! Everything from the cocktails to the food was a taste sensation!

Exceptional service at this small classy restaurant. Food is top level and inventive without being crazy. And the wine cocktails are well matched.
