    We were looking for someplace new to celebrate our anniversary. What a gem! We selected the "Pallor" area of Scholar. It's the upper level of the three options. Very bright and open, with large windows overlooking Ionia Ave and skylights. High ceilings and good spacing between tables keep the noise level low. Our server, Seth, was fantastic. Just the right level of attention and engagement for us. He was very friendly and welcoming, watching to be sure we had everything we needed. The menu was not vast, but seemed just right for selection options. We had the scallops and lamb t-bones. Both entrees were perfect! Wonderful presentation and quality. Desserts options were solid with an amazing hot fudge brownie and ice and a new option of gluten free carrot cake. I do not favor gluten free, but took a flyer and went with it under the recommendation of Seth. Wow, super good flavor and texture. Treat yourself to a great experience and got to Scholar!

    Food was delicious and great service! Our server made our experience pleasant for the duration of dinner. Thought the ambiance would be a little more intimate/romantic. It wasn't, but that wouldn't stop me from returning. We sat in the Parlor 6-8pm in summer. Happy to have another option in Downtown GR.

    We enjoyed it. We got seated right away. It took 10 min for anyone to come to the table but from there the service was good. We got the stuffed dates. Very good. I had the red grouper special and it was fantastic. Highly recommend.

    We had an amazing anniversary dinner. Everything was perfect from the food to the drinks to the service. We put this in the top 3 meals we've had in our lives, it was that good!

    We went for our anniversary, had a cold appetizer that was suppose to be hot, both our filets were well done, second filets with fine but then potatoes and garlic were raw. Couldn’t catch a break felt like all night.

    Sadly did not live up to the expectations. A good spot for cocktails and for a new environment but food was average.
