Schnitzel Platz in Glendale Heights is perhaps one of the most lively and entertaining eateries throughout the area and is known for hosting many events and is special enough to help ring in the holidays. In fact, Schnitzel Platz will often feature a special menu that has items only available throughout select times of the year. There are, of course, plenty of consistent favorites you will find too.

Some consistent menu items include the Kaiser in the neighborhood, whole suckling pig, Deutsche Haus platte, schweine braten and the sauerbraten. Make sure you also try the many schnitzels, of course, like the pork schnitzel, weiner schnitzel or the jager schnitzel. Schnitzel Platz also offers a kid’s menu that makes this restaurant a family-friendly place to go. and don't forget to come in and enjoy some authentic German polka music on weekends and our great selections of German bier imported from Germany!

    We went to celebrate a birthday and we're very impressed. A lot of food for the price. There was live music but we could still have conversations. We'll definitely be back.

    Been awhile since we've been and as much as I don't need to eat it I missed the bread basket. Crackers just don't cut it. Germany is BREAD. The rest of our food was excellent as always but they were out of the Weissbier I wanted which was dissapointing.

    Tried this German restaurant versus my usual when in Chicagoland. Food is good and interesting decor with cuckoo clocks, WWlI prints and photos. Worth a visit.

    Just traveled to Berlin, and I didn’t even have authentic German food while there (with a travel group, served mostly American foods). I was looking so forward to all the foods I grew up with (German grandmothers and parents), and remembered Schnitzel Platz from passing it on North Avenue. Making the reservation was easy, but didn’t seem necessary at the time my husband and I went. The atmosphere was great - German music, the vibe, the outfits the staff was wearing. Our server was attentive and nice, the wine was SO good, and the food was phenomenal! Definitely will come again, I’m very happy we chose to stop for dinner!

    A really cool restaurant with German decor and numerous cuckoo clocks on display. There is an area separate from the dining room with a bar and gaming available. We were greeted with s smile immediately and seated. There are booths and tables. We chose a booth. There was ethnic music playing, but at a very reasonable volume. They have an excellent variety of beers on tap and in bottles. We had two delicious steins of Spaten - my FAVORITE! We started with a half order of potato pancakes with applesauce. There were two huge portions and they were delicious on their own, but I did use aa small amount of applesauce. You can also get sour cream. We had two different types of schnitzel and both were incredibly sized portions. There were two huge pieces of schnitzel. Plus, you get your choice of two sides AND soup or salad. The pea soup was very tasty. The red cabbage and sauerkraut were delicious. The spaetzle was good, but not the best I have had. I would definitely go back.

    Food was delicious, we enjoyed the entertainment, our server was not very attentive, brought our food came over to check if we want dessert, we still left 25% tip.

    Great selection of schnitzel and they had a live band last Saturday night. The selection of sides is also incredible.
