We have dined at Scarlett Kitchen several times and always had good experiences, but last night was terrible. We invited another couple who had never dined there and told them it would be great. We were embarrassed at how things went. The service was slow, disorganized and incompetent. The drink service was ok at first, then all down hill after that. We ordered two appetizers and neither was up to the standard we experienced in the past. The dates were tiny and the calamari was like rubber. We ordered entrees and two of the four entrees were delivered to the table without even clearing the app plates. One more entree was delivered about 5 minutes later, but they forgot to make the fourth entree and had to rush it. We all politely waited for the last entree to be delivered about 5 minutes later. The pork was not tender and had little flavor. The pasta dishes were tough (not al dente) and very disappointing. We ordered a bottle of wine before the entrees were delivered and it was not served until several minutes after we started our entrees, even with the delays in getting our food. Oddly, none of the wine glasses matched, which seemed tacky for the level of quality we expect from such an establishment. The bill came to over $400, which we expected, but the value wasn’t worth a quarter of that. I don’t know what’s going on there, but last night I was disgracefully bad.

Hello Philip, I want to personally say thank you for your honest feedback. We unfortunately were understaffed this past weekend which caused a snow ball effect of issues. This was not our normal best! We had last minute staff calling out prior to service which put a lot of pressure on the entire restaurant and the kitchen. We apologize and want to make it right. I would hate to lose your loyalty with us due to one unfortunate, out of our hands kind of night. I would love to offer you a comped meal on the house for 2 guests to make up for your experience. My GM Rachael and I will personally make sure everything is absolutely perfect if you decide to comeback in. Thank you so much and again we are so sorry for your evening. This was rare for us! This is a really nice neighborhood spot with fabulous fresh food choices and cocktails. Service was great. My only critique would be that they close fairly early and because no one else was in the restaurant, we felt rushed through the latter part of our dinner and it’s not the first time.

I have brought this up with management and we have discussed not doing last call at the bar on weekdays until 9:30pm. Our kitchen usually closes at 8:30pm during the week but we are working on extending this based on reservations until 9pm. We absolutely never want you to feel rushed with us. This was a family gathering to celebrate my wife's birthday - including 4 grandchildren. Dinner was on the patio which was great for the kids (and parents). Staff were very pleasant, and wonderful service overall. Food, was very good, but somewhat pricey. Very creative cocktails and desserts were tasty. Will go again....

Everything was pretty good, but the prices were outrageous. I have spent that much at Larsen in Laguna Beach and had 180 degree view of the ocean. The music and service was amazing though. We may come back for drinks and music, but probably not for dinner.

One of our favorite spots. The Liquid Gold dish and short rib (when that's the daily special) are to notch! This time, I had the birthday dessert - a caramel sauced cookie with ice cream. A dessert I usually would not pick, but it was crazy delicious.

Excellent restaurant! Great ambience and quality food. The service is great too. The halibut was amazing. Perfect place for a date night or out with friends.
