We had a horrible table for 2 io the corner wall by the bathroom . They sat an outrageously loud party of 5 at the 4 top next to us . it was like sitting next to a group of people yelling at one another we could not even have a conversation . They were out of the swordfish 3 items on the menu included swordfish . We ordered lobster , calamari shrimp , salad and roasted vegetables. We were in mad pit of the restaurant in 45 minutes . We did not even finish our drinks . The food was averaged at Best. The roasted vegetables seemed microwaved . Not all roasted.. The calamari was very good. And Eight out for dinner seven nights as well as some lunches. This is by far the most disappointing. .

The best meal we had all summer long in Newport. Dined twice in 7 days- and tried different dishes, except the grilled octopus which we had both nights. Fabulous! The lobster bisque is about the best I have ever had. The specials were all tempting but I had a scallop mousse stuffed loin of shark which was divine. Ate every bite. So glad to have found a great new place. Thanks chef Rick!

New owners ruined a great restaurant. Drinks were watered down. Food was subpar. Calamari tasted like the oil was from May it was September. I had the seafood pasta tasted strange as though they squeezed lemon over the Diablo sauce. My husband had the cod pot which was TINY! Split my dinner with him as he was still hungry. Asked for bread then brought over some strange blue colored bread looked moldy. Tonight heading to Hooked great reviews and the original chef from S&S.

Good was good but menu is very limited - not at all like formerly. And our server was not knowledgeable about one(of only a couple) of specials. Atmosphere is also not at all the same / no e of fun. Very limited wine list

Although I do like salt on my fish, my striped bass was so salty. I couldn’t barely eat it. Perhaps they used Himalayan sea salt rather than regular sea salt.

My wife and I have been fans of Ricks cooking since he was at Metacom Kitchen. As expected he didn’t disappoint food was delish especially the pasta.

Scales has been a longtime go to when in Newport tho the recent dine was just a little better than average. We dined later and some items were not available and our service was pleasant but distant. Both of our seafood entrees were good and this could of been an average experience based on how late we dined.
